    This stuff might be good:

probably good for our 3rd gen with permanent Oil Filter housing: has an O-ring on the barrel. Instructions say to lube with motor oil, but I've had it jump once, even doing that.

I tried searching for "spindle oil". Seems to mostly come in 5 gallon pails.

They do mention gasoline, should be a bit of that about.

Thank you so much for these instructions! I’ve had a lot of trouble with my 04 Prius. Lack of power, P0420, & poor mileage 34-36 mpg. I replaced the Cats, MAF, Plugs, and now injectors. I ran into an issue though, after replacing the injectors I now have the red triangle of death and also get a code for

Thanks so much for the tutorial! I've had a lot of trouble with my 04 Prius 265,000 miles. I starting noticing a very noticeable lack of power, drop in MPG to 34-36MPG as well as the p0420 code. I replaced plugs, cleaned the MAF, replaced the CAT system with a magnaflow direct fit and now the Fuel Injectors. Immediately after replacing the injectors the red triangle of death came on and will not go away. Has anyone else had this issue??? Also, still having the same lack of power etc. beginning to think it may be an exhaust leak. Finally giving up and taking it into the shop for inspection.

Did you check the pressure from your fuel pump in the fuel line? Maybe there is a problem with the fuel pump or fuel filter.

interesting thread... i've heard things about running the prius out of gas though... how was that managed or was it a problem?... also... at the connection for the fuel delivery line there are two o-rings... did you replace them or did you have an issue there as i was wondering about their size...

In case this helps anyone, I bought professionally cleaned injectors online (all oem) and they were all between 14.9 and 15.5 ohms and the original fuel injectors were even higher. I’ve driven at least 500 miles since and I haven’t gotten any codes from the replacements and my mpg has increased by 4-5. Also, I’m not totally against seafoam but from my experience, I echo what others have said about the only way to really improve injector performance is take them out and clean them or perhaps the professional injector treatment yields similar results.
