What is your miles/kWh (total average electricity consumption) on the "Drive Monitor 2"

    I am not the champion but I have achieved 12.8kWh/100kms today.. I am sure it is going to go back up soon :cry:

    But I have noticed there is a trick to make that number smaller for me. During uphill set to HV and downhill manual flip to EV right away.

    Also during HV mode and when it flip auto to EV, that kWh/100kms does not change. The only way that number will fluctuate more is only when I manually set it to perm EV mode. Unless my eyes have an issue :confused:

    Well temps have dropped and now my range is closer to 40km :cry:. Daily trip consumption increased from 11.0kWh/100km to 13kWh/100km.

    Mine dropped from 60+ to 54kms every morning coming out of the garage for almost a month now. The 60+ has to wait until next summer :cry:

    Yep, my range has been dropping a whole lot too since the middle of September.

    From my peak this summer of almost 71km of range down to approximately 56km at the beginning of this week, then... this nasty snowstorm hitting us right now is definitely gonna drop my range into the 40's in no time flat.

    Still, this is sooo much fun. (y)

    Bought car on Aug 27 2019 and put 4015 miles on it (now its Oct 10). Car reads 5.2 mile per kwh but I just discovered driving without the AC and the past few day have been over 6.5 mile/kwh. Will update on the 1 yr anniversary. Hoping for 6+ miles/kwh hehe.

    While the good folks up in the great white north are heading into the season of depressing m/kwh numbers, we in the sub-tropics are finally getting out of low numbers and into the season of amazing EV ranges. I just got my 2017 in early March, so this will be my first "winter" with a Prime. I'm eager to see how it acts. I do know there was a big hit going from March to the heat of summer. I think I was getting about 5.8 m/kwh last spring and it dropped to about 4.7 through the summer. Now it's back up to about 5 here in my severe high-speed stop and go where I have to drive. I will say this; so far those numbers have been considerably better than they were with my 2013 PiP.

    I have always used AUTO 70F setting for the climate control and did not bother much for a different setting. But I noticed that keeping the climate on AUTO all the time has a big hit on the EV range due to a very high A/C load just like your summer. My record from the last two winters is showing A/C load of around 30% and daily EV efficiency of ~3 miles/kWh and overall mpg down below 100mpg for my daily commute of 36miles. This is using all HV in the morning and all EV in the afternoon commute with the climate set at AUTO 70F, GOM showing ~25 miles but actual EV range ~20 miles.

    I started experimenting using HV/EV switch to see if using HEAT mostly during the HV portion of the drive would make the difference. I started using heat to keep the windshield defogged in the cold morning with temp now down to 40s. I still don't need heat in the afternoon commute. Nothing like the middle of winter when morning temp dips to a single digit and afternoon temp never sees above freezing. But so far, in mild fall temperature, it seems to work very well. I can get A/C load of less than 3%, and EV efficiency of above 8 miles/kWh while keeping overall mpg in range of 120-130mpg. I am still seeing above 40 miles EV range on GOM.

    Those miles per kWh numbers are astounding. I don't think I've ever seen a day that went over 6.8. But don't think that I've seen a day with temperatures under about 70 so far with this car other than in HV mode in the mountains back in May.

    I am getting 6+ mile/kw in the summer with the AC off but sweating my balls off. Not that I do it all the time but I did it 4 days with a lot of driving in 90+ degree miami heat just to see how far i can get it. I charge it every chance i get because only have 110 outlet . Sometimes even just for 10 minutes at a time. I am using the prime for food deliveries. Doing about 30% highway and 70% local. And it says i used the Ac because wife uses the car to drop off kid to school and she dont care about the numbers ‍♂️

    I admire your frugality, but hope it isn't penny-wise and pound-foolish. Heat is hard on batteries, so the conventional wisdom around here is that if you need air conditioning, so does the battery. I don't think I'd want to risk the lifespan of my battery to save a few kWh. Even if I only got EPA numbers for range and had to buy all the electricity, it would still cost only a tiny fraction of what a typical gasser costs to drive. The last few mornings have been the first times I've been willing to drive w/o A/C since back in May. Since I got this car in May, I've saved at least $800 on fuel compared to a 28 mpg gasser and that includes a 6,000-mile trip that had very little EV driving.

    Were Oct. 10-12 all in EV mode? I see your display reads 999.9. If so, 70 to 90 miles just using EV is amazing. I guess you found some charging on the way.

    That’s possible. I’ve done up to 70 miles one day without using fuel. Just topping up at home and at public charging.

    It was 9.5 miles to work. Charged there. The a short errand and recharge at work. Then a lunch meeting 8 miles away with recharge at work. Then home for supper and recharge. Then a meeting at church 17.5 miles away. Got enough put back in the battery there to make it back home with two miles left in the battery. Ta da! Work and church were L1; home is L2. Today should be about 54 miles, probably with no gas again.

    Yes. Work and church offer me free plug-in. I have never plugged in where I had to pay. The gas would be way cheaper.

    But, I wasn't able to park close enough last night to the outlet, so I had to burn gas the last five miles coming home.
