Hi there - excited to join the club, pulled the trigger and literally just bought a 2019 LE.

I wasn’t able to justify the cost increase for a 2020 LE - but would really love CarPlay.

Has anyone with a 2019 considered putting in a 2020 head unit in the car? Would it be a fairly straightforward install?

If 3rd party would be recommended instead, which functions would I lose (I’ve read that there are solutions for retaining the backup camera at the very least).
    Thanks in advance!

I put the Alpine Halo 9 in my 2017 Prius. I lost the following settings:
    Headlamps-On Sensitivity
    Headlamps Auto-Off Timer
    Daytime Running Lights
    Interior Lights Off Timer
    Auto A/C Mode
    Auto Relock Timer
    Lock/Unlock Feedback-Lights
    Lock/Unlock Feeback-Tone
    Automatic Door Lock
    Automatic Door Unlock
    Remote 2-Press Unlock
    Wireless Lock when Door Opened
    Select Doors to Unlock

These are all settings I feel like I never need to change, so I set them to my preference before I had the aftermarket stereo installed. I have some pictures in this thread: Gen4 Prius with Alpine Halo9 ILX-F309 | PriusChat

Very helpful, thank you everyone. I’m really quite excited about the journey. We’re debating getting a second one as we’re pretty smitten so far.

I have a 2020 AWDe LE and just replaced the stock stereo with a Kenwood DDS57S to get Android Auto (USB connected, not Bluetooth) and a CD player (it plays DVDs too). The Kenwood also supports Apple Car Play (which I don't use), a rear view camera, hands-free Bluetooth phone and the steering wheel controls mostly work (with an extra interface). It cost $1000 for this stereo with a professional installation (about 3 hours elapsed time).

If any are interested, I removed my factory radio unit which works perfectly and has no noticeable cosmetic flaws PM me if interested.
