    Hi everyone,

Brand new G1 Prius owner here! Betcha don't hear that too often... bought the car from a salvage yard and started to drive it home within 10 minutes the red triangle of death appeared and the car went into struggle mode. I followed all of your magnificent steps to swap out 2 cells that had failed and I appreciate every single members efforts and comments. You guys have been super helpful and I wanted to acknowledge that. Just have to the battery back into place and fired up the car but the red triangle remains. Is there some sort of Step that I'm missing to reset the computer on the car? Please ask me all the questions you like or just give me the secret code to getting this car going. Thanks to all in advance!

Try disconnecting the 12v battery for 10 min to clear all engine codes. If no luck you will need to read us at least the standard OBDII codes.

Ok, I'll do that tonight to clear it by morning.

Now I'll need to get a better OBD2 reader, I have a Bluetooth one but it doesn't show all the Toyota codes.

    Group, any recommendations?

This will work with both Dr Prius and Torque, plus work on any car:

To really get all the info from your Prius you would need:

The software for this has to run on either an old XP laptop, or a new one running a virtual machine of XP.

You can get TIS Techstream cracked software on eBay that runs on Windows 10.
