    Hi everybody,

I bought a 2005 prius being aware that i might face various challenges. Of course hv battery "revival" following several youtube cases gave me freedom but the battery had to be changed anyway. Purchased a kit 14 x 14,4V from China followed its thin instruction, all went well. Yesterday the new battery was in the car. Battery shows the maximum number of bars...with following info: red triangle, all yellow lamps are on... including info "problem" and yellow triangle. The handbrake lamp is permanently red, the car doesn't accept drive or reverse...before hv battery change car was showing problem and energy monitor problem with car symbol in red. The car was fully functional. Now the red symbol is not there. All blue bars shown. Voltage of all modules checked and was 14,6v b4 installation. Looks like i made somewhere some mistake...in my eyes all looks ok...

Does anyone have ideas where to look for a problem?

    Vladimir

    welcome!

you really need tech stream diagnostic software to read the trouble codes.

it could be anything you did or didn't do, or something else altogether.

are you sure you reconnected all the wires? did you replace the orange safety plug properly?

did you clean up any corrosion? did you torque everything to spec?

did you check total pack voltage with a voltmeter? (201.6v)?

do you have any pictures of your rebuild?

Curious. What brand battery did you purchase?

    Sincere thanks Bisco,
The battery and bars and screws all new, wired with new harness delivered with batteries set. No corrosion anywhere. I have an obd2 bluetooth scanner that i used once 6 months ago, now not working, can order one new but takes one month to Serbia... will anyway do! I am not any kind of professional but i read a lot and i am enthusiastic. That's of course not enough...lol. orange safety plug unchanged, opened, uncorroded, tested with ohmmeter. HV battery 218V. 12V battery 12,3V and 6 months old. No ready light, red triangle plus all orange lights. Brake releases when on contact, goes in N, motor doesn't start...unfortunately will take me time till i have another obd2. There are maybe 50 prius in the whole country, people afraid of hybrid, toyota dealers behave like small Gods, so its not easy, but i am stubborn vices and will make it work. Once it works i will hopefully learn enough to do more things with this second hand imported car. I have already

Wait i just answering your comment...

Hi to all of you guys helping here! I was away and now back home - to my unsolved problem. Meantime tried to talk to Toyota dealer that lost all interest to talk when he heard it is a 2005 as manufacturing year. Hybrids almost unknown in this country and no workshops with any experience. It is worth of thinking as a good business opportunity for someone, but it is a problem for anyone having a used prius for sure. The worst for me is that the obd2 can not be connected. Only one red lamp on, no blinking green ones as b4. Bought a new one - the same. Without a reader it is pretty much like lost in the universe. The only thing i can do is to make unqualified suspicions i.e. an endless guess. Now i need some "opinions" and ideas.. . If obd2 doesnt work, can it be because of the battery computer? The car was working well before traction battery removal. I remembered that i was charging the 12v battery before putting in the new traction battery., and by mistake i have used a wrong charger which is for norma led batteries. Could this damage the battery computer? This was b4 i put the new cylindrical battery in the car. Yesterday, I took the traction battery out again, checked all, and all looks fine. Will put it back this weekend.

As soon as the traction battery is in the car i will be here again.
    BR Vlad

First, I have not used Techstream lite, so others here will hopefully fill in where I'm mistaken. I do have experience with Honda ODB2 from china.
It was able to read from ECU but not any of the hybrid data (almost a complete waste of energy for what I needed to see from ODB2).

Some members here at PC "PriusChat" know Techstream lite well, others here at PC know other country Toyota products well, but I have not noticed many that are experts in both nonUS Toyota and Techstream lite that post here at PC regularly.
Yes, and there may be educated guesses about your Prius, but without specific details that is pretty much all they will be.
Yes, but probably not. But is still possible, yes.
Should have checked for codes first before attempting to swap battery packs.
That ship has sailed so now you need to check for codes as soon as you can and let us know if there are any and what they are specifically for more help.
Again, what kind of charger, specifically? And how did you connect that charger to the battery pack?
Yes, if it was hooked up incorrectly, yes it could, especially if the prius was ON / Ready Mode at any time while you were charging the pack. Maybe other possible trouble issues with using a charger for LED's?
Looks can be deceiving, please be more specific about what you see!
Which pack are you planning to put back in? The cylinder battery pack or the Toyota traction pack?
