I am seeking to replace the OEM Yokohama Blue Earth tires on our recently purchased used 2016 Prius V. I'm looking for tires that are quiet and are good for driving in Seattle's wet weather. I'm looking at Michelin Defender tires; Bridgestone Quiet Trak were also recommended. Anyone have any experience with either of these or can you recommend other brands you have found to be good for this car? Thanks.

Tirerack customer reviews are a great source of real-world information. Image attached shows ratings of grand touring tires in 205/60-16.

(The Bridgestones you mention are shown near the top, but are too new to have enough reviews to graph.)

I am new to Prius, but just bought Michelin Crossclimate+ for my car. Also, I have Vredestein Quatrac 5 tires on our minivan, and they are very good in the wet.

We like the Continental Pure Contact LRR In 225/50R17 98V.

Thanks for the input. I am purchasing from Costco so am limited to their stock. One concern I had about the Bridgestone Quiet Trak is the fact that we don't have much user data; I don't know how Tire Rack gives it the Excellent ratings that it does, maybe on their own set of tests and experience in the business. I would feel more confident purchasing those if there was some data other than anecdotal comments. Also, I'm concerned about what any of these tires will do to the mpg. Any thoughts there?

was wondering if you finally got input and bought tires from costo? I'm in the same situation, i'd prefer costco tires since i'm in the city, always by one and the rotation/service is attractive. However if i search by vehicle type for a 2016 V Five, I only see 2 winter tires. However if I do a search for tire size of 215/50 17 size, lots of tires does come up on the costco site. why is that?

I think you're safe. I know I never drive my Prius over 167 mph.

For sure they will have (or can order in) any tire showing on their website. If it's offered there, and you buy it, they can and will get it for you. It might take a week or two.

For tires not on their website: ask, who knows. You likely need to pay up-front, no big deal.

so yes, they can order order other tires for sure. however the costco i visited wanted wanted me to sign a waiver to get a lower classification of tires in case of blowout. I'm just baffled that the Prius itself requesting a w rated tire. what were they thinking.

Bursts above 167 to pass slower traffic are fine, but don't hold that speed for too long.

the point is that prius v won't have ANY bursts of 167 MPH.. and the W rating tire doesn't make sense

Ya think? Nor does a V rating, or an H.

The load rating is more the issue.
