Looking for wrecking yards with Prius gen3 parts. Preferably pick and pull type yards. Not sure what I want but some choices would be nice. Heading to LA and San Diego next weekend.

    Appreciate any heads up.

If you're passing through Kingman, there's a really huge pick-n-pull on East Andy Devine, aka Route 66. No guarantee of Prius anything, but it's gotta be 15 acres.

Here in SoCal, the EV-PHEV-HEV Market is such that the pros pick stuff up as soon as the junkers hit the auction block. You may still get decent rear view mirrors, electric window mechanisms, a passenger seat & such, but the battery/inverters/good stuff? Good luck with that

Seems like it's this way for sure anywhere in the west. From what I can see it looks like the east coasters have more luck with boneyard picks than us but I could be wrong.

I lost a lot of faith in Car-Part.com a couple of years ago. I spent several days trying to get a specific factory radio for my father in law's Ranger pick up. I would call about a listing and they would check and tell me it was still available. Then I made the trip to pick it up and they would point me to where the truck was located. Every factory radio was gone out of all the trucks. I ended up finding an individual selling one on Ebay. I just dont think they take much time updating what they post.

Was under the impression that Car-part was kind of like Ebay, but for junkyards. Where the junkyard will self list pieces/parts for sale. Car-part has no input on the listings, or if a junkyard does/doesn't have a part in stock, and there is no way to rate junkyards on the quality of the listings or parts received.

also, put the row52 app on your phone. with the app or on the website, you can search withing a given area for specific cars. you will learn what yards have your car, when the car got there, etc.

Just tried searching on that website. Plugged in my info and hit the search button. Had to expand the search to 250 miles before a listing came up. It is the only one within 500 miles. Perhaps with some time and more exposure it will gain participants. Seems like a good idea.

You can set notifications on Row52 so that you will know when your car shows up at a yard near you or along your route. I just found the motor I was looking for after getting no notifications for several months. When I got to the yard, the car hadn't been touched.
