Why my OBD 2 is not working any more

    Hi Everybody,

    I am still new to this forum although i started another discussion just few weeks ago. I have a 2005 prius 2 with 178 000km. Recently purchased a new HV battery consisting of 14 x 14,4 V cylindrical blocks very similar to what i saw being advertised in the US. Despite of not perfectly clear chinese-english manual, the battery has been assembled and measures 218V at the moment when installed in the car. I purchased a Yasa 12v 45A battery 3 months ago and used with the old original battery, but it measures only 12,3v now, 24h after charging..My bluetooth ELM OBD2 was working.well. once i got my new battery in the car, i got a red triangle and the entire row of yellow warnings but NO READY sign! Of course the car doesn't start. I put my OBD in, but only the upper red lamp is permanently illuminated. No blinking lights as before. I thought its broken and bought another ELM only with WIFI and it shows the same.

    I was reading many posts here, as a part of learning. Of course i am blind without the reader. Toyota dealer here is not enthusiastic to even talk about so old cars, while others have no idea of hybrids in Serbia. I am without competent support and i am not competent either. I am however enthusiastic to make the car work since i did a lot alone already. But without working obd i am lost. I would appreciate guidance from the expert guys here. I saw that there is a competence base here. Why the obd cannot connect at all?

    Once i make the car to work again i will present my next project because of which i bought this Prius, but i must make it run again. Sincere thanks to everyone in advance. I am impressed about the seriosity and competence here, also have laughed several times about funny comments like the TDI PRIUS...this is a jewel.

    I am thankful for any suggestion how to make the obd work again. It must got disturbed by something..

    check the pins to see if you have 12 volts

    Try Dr. Prius App... It will read the error codes and subcodes.... One thing I can say for sure, is every single time I put a pack back into a car and I knew the pack was healthy and the dash stays lit up, even after hitting the start button several times, it's because something got loose, didn't get plugged in or attached properly or even damaged. So review your work, make sure all the plugs are plugged in and no sign of corrosion or physical damage to any wires.

    if it was me.....and i had no other options....

    i would put the old HV battery back in it. see if i could at least read some codes.

    then that would definitely prove whether it was the cylindricals or not, causing the problem.
