I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. When I connect to a chargepoint charger I seem to have problems getting it seated correctly. I will plug it in and then the charger will say that it is waiting for the vehicle. I have to fiddle with the connector to get it to really click in solidly. It's not like it's a problem with the specific charger, I have had the same issue with all 3 chargepoint chargers I have used so far. I don't seem to have any issue with the 110V unit that came with the car.

It's happened to me one on ChargePoint station, but the ChargePoint station beside it worked fine. I remember coming back later and a Leaf was charging on the problem station just fine apparently. I contacted tech support and they asked for an error code, but I don't believe there was one. Next time it worked, but they also switched it from free to pay. Now, I'm fine with paying, but $2/hr makes it very expensive to drive on electricity.

I've had problems with 3 different chargepoint chargers, but not the problem you described. On 2 of the chargers, the unit's display was locked up. I called their tech support, but they couldn't fix it remotely. They said they'd open a service call and have a tech look at it in person. I checked back weeks later, and neither charger had been repaired. These were both free chargers - I'm guessing that they are much more responsive when it's a money sucking charger. Regarding the 3rd charger, the problem was that I couldn't pull the nozzle out of the charger's receptacle. Only with a huge tug was I able to remove it. Personally, I like it that way as I have never seen anyone else using it - and it's free!

I haven't had any problems with ChargePoint chargers. I've used at least seven different ones.

Wow, this thread is really old, but I just had this issue this morning! Charger at Park Place in Irvine CA parking structure. I've been charging at these 2 stations for 2 months, and now this morning both gave me the "waiting for vehicle" message. Unplugged, replugged, stopped and started charging several times, nothing worked! This is the only place I charge other than home, so immediately reported issue to chargepoint. It is a paid station, so we'll see what happens...

Any reason why you only use one chargepoint?
Sometimes the chargers will act up. Just find another one.

they also have an app for the phone.

It's more complicated than it was a few years ago.
More than twice as many chargers registered and many more kinds of chargers available.
And its growing all the time.

Or get the chargepoint app for your phone if you want and don't already have it.

I use one at work daily, no issues. It's 1 dollar per hour. There's me, and a couple Volts, that use them (2 chargers) regularly. We see the odd Leaf and Tesla as well. They all seem to get charged without issue.
