Which 2015 version best for offroading, or are they all the same?

    Hey does anyone know which Prius would be best for going off road, would it be the C the V or the 2.

    Or is there no difference between them?

    i think gen 4 has gotten lower, but afaik, yes. none will do very well, depending on your idea of off roading

    All are horrible choices:

    Prius c 5.5 inches
    Prius liftback 5.3 inches
    Prius v 5.7 inches

    The c is perhaps the least horrible, as it has the shortest wheelbase

    but the correct answer is

    Hybrid Highlander 8.0 inches

    Well, at least you’re adamant about it, I’ll give you that.
    Now that that’s been said, I cannot think of a better vehicle for eminent destruction. That’s to say if you don’t plan on highly modifying it for off road excursions...which would be a huge undertaking.

    Funny you should ask! ;) It totally depends on what your goal is with this project and what you want to do with it. If you're simply looking to gain a few inches of ground clearance through suspension and slightly oversized tires to put you within the realm of compact SUVs (Crosstrek/RAV4) then I suggest going with the standard Prius. This will yield you the best blend of fuel efficiency, drivability, ground clearance, and cargo room. Let me know if I can help with whatever direction you choose!     do they make lifting kits, like lowering kits?

    heck we have people here who's prius is destroyed just from a quarter mile gravel driveway

    I helped RMB lowered his prius at our last meet up just by replacing springs so a kit would just be 4 shorter than stock springs.

    Not quite yet, but I might have something in the works. Im currently just shy of 3" higher than stock with 1.5" in suspension and 2" bigger tire (1" more sidewall). I've put over 15k miles on my current setup on some of the nastiest dirt roads, BLM land, and worst of all CA highways and so far i couldn't be happier. At first glance you wouldn't even realize it was modified but it's made a world of a difference in drivability both on and off road.

    How much do you think it would cost to do all of these upgrades/modifications to a stock prius? Why would the regular prius be better than the "v" ?

    The Prius Performance Plus is definitely the worst out of all gen 3s for offroading.

    Tema 4x4 in Novosibirsk has lift parts for every Prius chassis. Not all are good, but there are a few threads with documented successes.

    Aquas sold in Pakistan have a lift. Not clear if it’s dealer-installed or further up the chain, but they need it for the rough roads there.

    I was looking for the lifted Gen 4 showcars but apparently somebody actually modified a Prius for off road here.

    Tema 4x4 is a decent inexpensive option however replacing the springs all together is a much better long term solution. Unfortunately with the Tema spacers (or any spacers for that matter) on the front of the vehicle you are changing the limit point of full suspension droop and up travel which puts unnecessary stress and wear on key steering and suspension components like the tie rods, ball joints, etc. By leaving the struts in their original position and simply replacing the springs it allows for all of the factory components to continue working together as they were designed.
