After many hours on and off over a couple of weeks trying to, first, install Techstream, and second, getting it operational I was eventually able to communicate. Went through some menus being very careful not to make ANY change. I remember reading that power needed to be on (I think) but anyway I had pressed the start button twice to get power. After a few minutes of poking around, the cars display suddenly started flashing then went dark and stayed that way. With absolute dread I disconnected the cable horrified that I had bricked my car. Display remained dark despite repeated pressing of start button. Was panicking thinking what I was going to tell my wife, much less the dealer when I called them to come tow the car. Considered burning the garage down so I wouldn't have to subject myself to the shame and embarrassment. Then it occurred to me that maybe the problem was the 12 Volt battery. Jumped to my 03 taco truck and display returned. Sweet Jesus and Mary I don't recall the last time I experienced such relief. Started up and drove a bit and all seems normal. Maybe next week when my legs have stopped shaking and my breathing returns to normal I'll hook er up again. Maybe.

It is very slow to connect. I hook everything up, then start techstream, and when it finally connects to the
CABLE, I press the start button twice, w/o my foot on the brake. I did remember reading about someone
searching so long they drained the battery, so I connected my 2 amp battery charger to be safe!

I'll bet you will never do that again! :)

That's a good idea. Did you use the connector for jumping that's in the fuse box?

I had backed it in the driveway and the ac outlet was 6 feet away so I connected directly to the batter.
