Only return the core using the Prius that got the swap; that'll make sure. (y)

He actully didnt even charge me the core charge upfront. I just have to bring back the old core when Im done.

They were great to work with, Id recommend them to anyone in the area.

    Battery Update:

Im all dont with my install. I went slow and took my time to be sure I did it right. I spend a few hours on the install but most the day trouble shooting issues. Before I did the swap I had gotten some communication errors that I assumed was related to the low battery.

The car started up great but it threw the triangle, abs,! lights. I could tell the battery was working great compared to the old one as it was lasting much longer. I used my scan gauge to reset the codes but they kept coming back. I unplugged the 12v, pulled up everything and made sure I didnt miss something. after putting it all away and it seemed good. I drove away and plugged the scan gauge back it and a few miles down the road got the same lights with multiple cummunication errors.

Long story Im pretty sure its the scan gauge giving me issues. I came home and resert it all with techstream and left the scangauge unhooked. I read around online and it sounds like others have had the same issues. Im going to leave it uphooked for a few days and make sure its all good before trying to hook back up. Ill contact scangauge if it happens again. Seems so odd since I've had it for like 3 months with no issues.

Going with an OEM battery was super simple and Id reccomend it for even beginners. I just set the 2 batteries next to each other and swamp everything.

1800 is a good price and no core charge is crazy. Never heard of that before. The prices on the battery fluctuates, it’s 1611.02 at Tracy Toyota today, 1729.26 at Roseville Toyota, next week???

I drove 5hrs to Los Angeles and back with 46mpg avg on the comp(49) by hand. I left the scan guage out and it ran perfect but as soon as I plugged in the scan gauge it threw the codes. I read it may have something to do with the X-gauges I added. I contacted them and they are sending out a new cable free of charge that should fix the issue.

She is back a working great :)

They got me for $1950! (L.A.) I went round and round and round w/several parts guys from different dealerships, all telling me "it's a brand new new new battery", yet then a couple of these same dealerships told my repair shop that ALL of the Gen 2 traction batteries are "remanufactured" --which is supposedly different than "new", but also not the same as "rebuilt" which Toyota doesn't ever sell anymore. Like, what the fluke. Soooo how does "remanufactured" jive with "new new new"? Anyway, apparently it's the ONLY battery that Toyota sells.

Actually Toyota does sell a used battery, and California is the only place I have ever heard it for sale. It pops up so rarely nobody really talks about it.

Your invoice receipt should have the full part number. If you want to make sure you got new, post the full part number.

Unfortunately for $1600 you could have got @2k1Toaster kit of new cells linked to in my signature. People are reporting better cooling with the kit too.

I don't get why you guys are going through the effort to get the Prius battery from Toyota when the one from newpriusbattery is just fine and so far has been proven to be just as effective or imo better. Not to mention cheaper with no core charge. After seeing the old cells in eBay it cost me around $900 or so when I got 2 last year.
