    Don't you mean "... bring your own suicide cord ..."? With exposed prongs that are electrically hot? And cannot possibly get regulatory safety approvals?

    What is this FrankenCharger? Surely, no one is actually using these fire hazards. Right?

    I was going to try to explain what happens when plugging into the belkin backwards, but as I was writing I realized I don't really know.

    Using 220 volts backwards through the 120 volt rated belkin can't be good, and I'm wondering the same about using 220 volts thorough a 120 volt rated lighted ends extension cord. Will those 120 volt rated LEDs in the plug and socket ends blow at 220 volts?

    I am not quite getting the picture of how this is supposed to work. Are you supposed to plug the J1772 plug of the product into the charging station, plug the the power plug of the REAL EVSE into the power strip, and plug the J1772 on the REAL EVSE into the car? So it is just a J1772 "extension cord", of sorts? As mentioned in another post, in some countries, you have bring your own J1772 adapter to use public charging stations, unlike in the US, where charging stations include the EVSE and J1772 plug.

    I hesitate to explain how it is supposed to work, as it is insanely dangerous.

    Some notes:

    The Belkin Power strip is supposed to run 15 amps 120 volts, it will actually get 16 amps at 240 volts. There is no sign it is designed for that. 15 Amps equipment should only run 12 Amps continuously, 2.5 hours is continuous!

    The Cord providing 240 Volts 16 Amps would have a 120 volt 15 Amp PLUG with live bare blades on the end. If you unplug it from the Belkin, it is a fire/electrocution hazard to everything/everyone.

    The other plugs on the Belkin LOOK like they would have 120 Volt on them, they don't. They have 240 volts.

    And as a minor issue, it is vastly over priced.

    It sounds like that is how it's supposed to work. No "suicide cord" is involved, but dangerous voltage would still be present on the other outlets on the power strip. But does the J1772 connector work both ways? Something would have to negotiate with the charging station to tell it how much power to put out. The charging station doesn't really have a current limit, so there would be no over current protection on the other outlets on the power strip besides the overall limit of the charging station (maybe 30A or more), unless there's overcurrent protection in the device. Maybe that is why they use a Belkin?

    It makes no sense to use a Belkin power strip. Why not a cheap generic one? Why not a single outlet? Why not one with a plug that's standard for the country that uses it, rather than a USA plug? Maybe they got it out of the e-waste pile?

    It could just be a scam for people who don't know how EV charging works.

    As a side anecdote, when I was travelling overseas I brought a power strip and one adapter so I could plug in all my USA chargers for phones and camera batteries. They are all dual voltage, so it's fine, and that way I didn't have to bring a pile of adapters and find a power strip for the country I was in. It was hard to find a power strip with USA receptacles rated for 240V, but I did find one. It worked great!

    without the suicide adapter how is the thing supposed to be powered? Unless it's meant to plug into the car and provide power to the outlets of the belkin? Either way, it's reversing at least one components normal operating electrical flow ,,, besides listing in the specs of the J1772's standard 220 volt spec and not giving any clue if the belkins been modified or any operating instructions for the complete units..

    Anyone want to contact the seller and ask for the units usage instructions?
