Gen 4 spare?

    So the 2016-current Toyota Prius (not Prime) do have a spare tire wheel well. If that is true … I have 2004-09 Toyota Prius 15 inch 5-100 lug /bolt pattern spare tire donuts available

    Just a word of caution: the rim is the same for 2nd and 3rd gens, but the tire varies:

    second gen spare: T125/70D16 96M
    third gen spare: T135/80D16 101M

    Also, what year is the second gen? The temp spare does lead a sheltered life, but if it's over 10 years old the rubber maybe be going off.

    And oddly, even though 4th gen has the same stock tire size as 3rd gen, the spec'd temp has a 17" diameter rim, and a tire size that is significantly smaller outside diameter than it's stock size. 3rd gen temp spare and stock tire sizes are virtually identical, which makes sense.

    Just speaking from what I have witness first hand 2016-current Toyota Prius(non Prime) the 2016 Prius Two is OEM dealer with 15 diameter rim/wheel 5-100 lug /bolt pattern(what I have witness)...and most of the 3rd Gen Prius I have driven like the Prius V are 15 inch diameter rims /wheel. I do understand there are 17 inch rims /wheels out there and just like the 2004-09 Toyota Prius Gen2 have some 17 rims too.

    I am thinking a lot of ten years donuts out there and I agree 12 to 15 years really be pushing your luck to have a donut on the front drive wheels of almost any vehicle going down the road at 70mph...

    Our daughters 2010 pilot temp spare is poster child for knackered tires. She had a flat, and drove with it on a front corner, for about a month. Went to the states twice lol.

    And she had it on for about a week, just rrcently. It's really bad, near bald an a lot of cracking. I'm likely going to do an "intervention".

    I bought a 2019 Prius LE and it has a spare tire. All the other models made that year have a spear kit, more or less fix a flat!!

    Just took a look at Toyo USA: if you want a spare and 3-door touch to unlock/lock, you're SOL. :mad:

    Same story in Canada.

    I'm starting to think they're trying to bump it off. :(

    Fortunately for Toyota, there are some customers that don't actually care that the car comes without a spare tire...
