    Hi there, how's it going?

I bought a 2006 Prius last weekend and I would like to start getting to know the car better.

I would like to get the Dr Prius app so that I can start to play around and check the life expectancy of the HV battery.

I have an apple 6 phone, but I also have a cheap laptop that is not apple. I would be happy to buy something else if it is reccomended or easier to use. I may even be able to upgrade my phone if that would be better.

I have been looking at the Dr Prius website, but I can't work out which OBD link will work with an apple phone although I'm sure I found it earlier this week.

Please excuse me if this is a stupid question or if the link thing is not called an OBD.

I appreciate your time and thoughts. Thankyou

Lastly if there is one that may be easier to use for for a bloke who struggles a bit with computer things that would be worth considering.

    Have a good day
    Scott

I have the OBD LINK MX it's the top one that they offer and it's worth every penny. The only part that stinks about it is to get the extra features (abs, hybrid, smart key etc) you'll have to buy the package for that year of car for $10. I'm waiting for them to come out with something I can pay once for and get every single car made

Hardest part is that 70% of OBD2 readers being sold online are garbage builds that won't connect. I've been through the nightmare of buying more than 1/2 dozen of these online only to have to get a refund for a DOA product on all but 2 of them... Veepeak seems to work well. But even the best ones like Veepeak only worked one out three times I've bought one. Here's the best article to help you decide which one to place your bet on: Hybrid battery diagnostic and repair tool for Toyota and Lexus

I went through that website again and seemed to understand it better thanks.

I ordered one that will work on my iphone I think. I assume IOS = iphone. I didn't want to risk using the windows lap top cause I don't know if it has blue tooth.

Anyway fingers crossed it turns up in a week and I can start playing around with it.

I think my HV battery is on the way out and I'm looking forward to playing around with the car a bit.

    Thanks for your responses
    Scott

I got onto Amazon from that page and had to search for a #2 version or something so it would work on an iphone and it ended up costing $66 ozzie to get it landed here
