Rear Ended by Escalade-After repair panel gaps are mostly within spec but not as good as originally

I have read a few of the rear ended posts on this forum and wanted to share my experience and get your opinions on my situation.

Long story short, I slowed down and stopped at a crosswalk to allow pedestrians to cross, the driver of the 6000lb Escalade behind me didn't notice and hit me at 20-30mph (no brakes at all). If she didn't notice a car in front, she probably wouldn't have noticed the people crossing either...

Just some scratches on the Escalade's bumper cover.
Short list of the damage on my car: hatch, lower hatch glass, rear bumper cover, both turn signals, impact bar, rear body panel.

Car sat at home 18 days (waiting for the police report and insurance).
Inspection took 3 days at the shop.
Repair took 16 days.

The repair came out to about $11,700 and since I went through GEICOs recommended shop it is guaranteed for as long as I own the car.

The body shop did a great job with the repair, matching the paint and detailing the car but I think some of the panel gaps aren't as "good" as before the accident. When they first showed me the car I though it was like new but after having it back for a few and looking closer I'm not so sure now.
I found the back door clearance measurements on another post and used it to measure the gaps. The gaps are towards the higher limit all around but all except the k and L (bottom of hatch to bumper cover) are within the spec. I didn't measure the original gaps so I don't have a numerical frame of reference, just some pictures. I do understand that all new cars have some panel gap variation and that "good" might be relative.

For K and L I'm getting about 12.5mm which is 1 mm out of spec.

Do shops usually have a report for panel gaps when they do body repairs? Kind of like when you get a wheel alignment and they give you a before and after report?

When I open the hatch it sounds like there is something pushing it up as the latch is releasing. When closing it takes a more effort then before and some times it wont fully latch so I have to open it and shut it harder. it also sounds different when closing. I checked the weather striping, it looks like it's seated fine. I pulled a small section off to see the metal under it and noticed that there was some kind of gray sealant that wasn't dried yet in weather strip.

I attached some before and after pictures. Before is always on the right. After is always on the left. Let me know your thoughts.

Unless you look really close it might be hard to notice, but I think that I will be noticing it forever now.

Just wanted to get some opinions before/if I follow up with the body shop for any corrections. Do you think that this is a good enough repair and I'm just being too critical?

btw, 2017 Prime with 35,000 miles

 

I'm in NY and it seems like the liability of the insurance is to fix the car. If they do that then there is no "diminished value", at least in the insurance company's and NY law's eyes.

I get were they are coming from, as long as the repair is properly done by a good shop then it can be considered as good as new. Not sure how that will work out practically. I might go try and get a trade in value at a dealership to see how much the accident will effect the value.

It not a Toyota shop but it was the insuance recommended shop. They have a lot of good reviews and all they do is body repairs. No car sales. The repair is guaranteed for as long as I own the car. No plans to trade it in or replace it yet. By the time I will want to trade it in or replace it, the repair will have proven itself.
