Removing 100A Fuse

    100A fuse blew in 2013 Prius C. 12v battery was installed backwards, so pretty sure that's why.

    Has anyone replaced the 100A fuse under the hood on the driver's side? It seems it is possible to disassemble the fuse box into at least two parts to access the screw on the underside of the fuse box holding the 100A fuse in. So far removing the two fasteners that hold the fuse box to the body has not provided sufficient access to the 100A fuse screw.

    Have done quite a bit of searching over the past two days but couldn't find anything for Prius C. Any help is much appreciated.

    Not sure if Prius C is different, but in Gen2 Prius there's going to be additional damage beyond that fuse you're gonna have to fix... So if you can't find that info on here for Prius C, try to find it for Gen2, where there's an abundance of info about damage caused by jump start when polarity was accidentally reversed.

    To follow up on my post: Tested all the fuses with an amp meter and found approximately 6 fuses blown. Was able to replace approximately 5 fuses besides the 100A one myself. I spent a good chunk of time trying to take apart the driver's side fuse box to access the screw(s) holding the 100A fuse in, but finally gave up. Ended up taking to the dealer. Seems they didn't know how to take it apart either because they cut a silt into the plastic to access the 100A fuse. According to the dealer, no damage beyond the $15< fuse - so if you are reading this because you made the same mistake I made, there is hope!

    It's always so fascinating how often the dealers are so new to the finer points of repairing hybrid cars...

    We are only required to have 1 (yes one) certified hybrid technician. That certified tech is only required when repairs are made under warranty. So if your vehicle is out of warranty, the service writer will give it to whomever they choose.

    Thanks for that information... That explains alot... I guess Tesla won't ever have a problem like that? :)

    Unfortunately today I also made the same mistake :( (switched battery polarity)
    Does anyone have any updates how to properly remove fuse box on our Prius C?
    Could you pls. clarify where were the other 5 fuses in your case?
