Currently, there are only two sources of genuine new modules for a Prius, one is after-market and the other is Toyota.

For the after-market option, buy direct from the seller newpriusbatteries.com

For OEM, shop around the most local (as you will need to pick-up, they don't ship) dealers and see what deal you can negotiate, assuming they agree to sell to you over the counter.

I am taking that the Greenbean lifetime warranty thing is not a good deal? I have been looking at threads and it seems to be a not so good option.

Only if you want a short-term solution and continuous hassles.

Greenbean is still a collection of old second-hand modules. A better idea is to get the gear and do it yourself. At least this way you will ensure it is done the best way possible and when (not if) it goes bad again, you have no-one to blame but yourself.

There's lot of hybrid battery "rebuilders" out there especially on craigs List. They just us the same vintage year and tiredold battery's you already have and discharge them and recharge them and that wakes them up for a while and will last for a while......until they fail again and then the whole battery box has to come out again and what a hassle.

The only place to get brand new battery's is from the dealer or newpriusbatterys which use aftermarket cylindrical battery's that you have to swap into your existing case. Your basically rebuilding the battery yourself unless you buy the battery from a Toyota dealer. if you buy the battery form a toyota dealer and take it home you still have to remove the original battery ecm out of your old battery and install it in the new battery and then bring that old battery box back to the dealer to get your core chage $$$ back..

What is your diy skill level? Feel comfortable around 200 volt battery box swapping parts? if not make sure there's labor $$$ on top of whatever plans you make. Nothing is a plug and play here with the hybrid battery.

Did you get the codes? Did you check your $200 12v before you spend $2000 on the HV?

Welp I ran into a little mistake, I lost one of the left bracket bolts under the back seat, there are 7 of them should I rip out the back seat to find it or no?

The back seat is clipped in on two clips, it takes 2 secs to remove the rear seat.

Thank you. The other operator error is that I closed the hatch with the twelve volt battery removed. Time to do some climbing I guess

Not necessarily. You can connect a 12 V source to the front jump point and then you can operate the rear hatch lock as per normal.

The rear hatch proved to be a seriously minor mishap. Open rear door, engage hatch release, push up place old stick in the way, easy peasy. I am done the car started right up but once again ran out of daylight so had to wait until after work and install all the interior stuff. Cannot wait to take it for a ride. Don't know why exactly since I don't expect anything different other than a lack of the RTID. Not too bad for changing it outside in early November. Thanks to all for the help.

Don't worry, nine miles is nothing, heck, it won't even be fully warmed up. Come back when you have used the tank. If it is still in the 20's then you might have a problem.

Ok I am a little bit concerned though, it seemed as if though the rebuild reinstall seemed a little bit too easy to me.

yeah you can tell if the battery is not participating the engine will be screaming just to get on the freeway. Have to floor it to join traffic.
It may throw a red triangle or a turtle icon on the top left corner of the mfd.
