For those in Calif, if you want to buy a Prime, do it now, before the end of the month.
Starting December 3rd, the Prime will no longer qualify for a state rebate (only plug-ins with 35 official electric miles or more). Other aspects of the rebate (for other cars and income levels) will get tougher, too.

Apparently the program is running out of money, so they're making it harder (on many levels) to get the state rebate starting in December (it'll also just be 1 per family, instead of 2).

So just letting people know... the CA state rebate for the Prime will disappear in 2 weeks...

Well I did find it odd the prius prime isn't on any of those listed, but that would be interesting if that is the case.

The characteristics of the UDDS rating are:

    - Distance traveled: 11.04 miles

    - Duration: 31.233 minutes

    - Average speed: 21.2 mph

It's the "city" driving cycle, which we know Prius handles exceptionally well. That's what is important when addressing emissions from heavily congested traffic... which is a priority for CA.

california will no longer buy toyota vehicles, and all others that divert from their plan.

between 2016 and 2018 that amounted to $1,330,000. worth of vehicles

What's happening here is that the Trump administration is trying to take away the California exemption that allows it to set emissions standards stricter than the Federal ones. Several auto manufacturers have sided with California and have agreed to voluntarily follow the stricter standards, and some have sided with the Federal government to follow the less strict standards. Toyota is one of the latter. And the state has decreed that it will not buy cars from anyone that does not agree to follow its stricter standards.

Choose wisely. There are unintended consequences.

In this case, we have witnessed automakers gaming the system rather than actually changing.
