So far the best offer I have is $2000 off dealer discount from a San Diego dealer. Inquired about the Black Friday $2000 rebate promotion none of the dealer have that info as of now.

    Quick questions for the thread:

    1. Sales tax. I know that sales tax is computed against the retail price _before_ subtracting the Toyota rebate. But does anyone know if the tax is also computed before the dealer discount? I would assume not, but want to confirm.

    2. Doc fee. Is it mandatory?

    3. Tire fee. Also mandatory?

    4. AVRS fee. As far as I can tell, this is just some fee for a service that the dealership uses to calculate (and maybe mark up) gov't fees. Not a mandatory fee. Anyone knows different please tell me.

My state (Georgia) doesn't have any of those fees except for Tax and Tag/Registration but as far as I'm aware the only fees that are mandatory are fees charged by the state things like tax and registration which some of those other things seem to be. Any other fee not mandated by law the dealerships can waive although they will insist that they can't.

If that’s CA all I paid was $85 doc and $30 electronic filing fee BUT I registered and paid tax in NV. It doesn’t look like they’re adding anything substantial in that quote. No dealer discount though?

I don’t know the local market you’re in but lots of people in here are reporting that dealers are offering $3000 dealer discount. It seems like that’s low.

If anyone want to buy in New England area, I am able to get 2200+ dealer discount and then 3000 rebate on Limited. Haven’t received the car yet as they have to locate. But here dealer fee is 489 instead of the 85 doc fee..

I'm in the area and looking to buy a Limited this month or next. Which state did you find the 2200+ dealer discount in?

What is the original price they are giving you? $2200 dealer discount on top of the $3000 rebate is phenomenal for a car that isn't sitting on the lot, imo.

    Hi AJDL
I am in Connecticut and would be interested in the specifics of your deal when all is said and done.

This is what I can get after trying for so long. This includes the recent grad and triathlon. Are any of those fees can be removed? Heading to the dealer now!
