Was the vehicle repaired? How long between collision and repair? Most if not all P-lock codes are an indicator of 12V battery problems. Chances are the wreck crossed up some wires and drew down the state of charge. If the battery is original 2012 then age is contributing to low state of charge. You should remove the 12V battery and have it bench tested with load, which a car parts place will usually do for free. After determining whether the battery needs to be replaced I would then have a parasitic draw test performed on the vehicle to insure there are no more electrical shorts.

Is it a body shop that’s trying to diagnose the problem or a qualified vehicle repair facility? If, whoever is try to fix it doesn’t have the technical expertise and doesn’t understand the theory of operation, they are, so to speak, pissing up a rope. You need to talk to your insurance rep. and have it inspected and diagnosed at a dealer or someone who knows what they are doing.

I was wondering if you got a chance to find a solution. I have the same issue.

    Try this.

Put the e-brake on all the way. Turn on car by pressing power twice (don't start). Put the car in neutral. Then start the car while in neutral. Let us know if it works.
