I bought a used Prius last weekend, and it had a Kenwood head unit installed. I would like to go back to the factory unit with Navigation. i know this car did not come with Nav, but it appears all I need other than the head unit is the GPS antenna. My question is can I install a JBL OEM unit with Nav. and if so are all the factory connections the same. I have been unable to find anything that list the factory radio connections from the harness and Head unit connections.

Thank you for all your help

The factory JBL system included a, non-standard, JBL amp mounted under the passenger seat. The speakers are different. I believe the speaker wiring is also different. Not sure what you'd have to install for BT. Does your Prius even have a factory BT mic?

What don't you like with the Kenwood? Replacing the Kenwood with a different unit probably makes the most sense. Almost all posters have the opposite questions, how to go from JBL to aftermarket.

You're looking at a major job.

The Kenwood back up camera won't be compatible. Different voltage.

The Kenwood is fine, I was just wondering what car info screens I am missing. This is my first Prius and not sure what the factory head unit offered.

Thank you for the reply back, it may be more trouble than it is worth, I do not see any type of factory BT mic. There is the one that came with the Kenwood ddx793.
