The people who snow plow roads near our old Montana area are folks that sign up to do it, and typically do 50 miles anywhere around their zone. Even 3X that many miles wouldn't be a big - whether EV or ICE, as typically either vehicle will lose about 50% of its efficiency.

I'm with you on a snow plow pick up not seeing many actual miles, but...
    • BEVs do see a worse efficiency hit in the cold, which will be made worse by the extended time a plow will be heating the cabin.
    • With a plow, aerodynamics on the highway will be total crap, and professional plowers will want to get to the next as quickly as possible.
Plus, with time equaling money, I don't think professionals will want to spend time charging at what will likely not be a Supercharger.

    Aerodynamiic???

That looks more like a rush-to-implementation radar-evading design, when there is little time to refine its fuel efficiency.

Lot plowing is all direction changes. This rig would have a substantial advantage there, in terms of ease of shifting, at least a little energy regeneration, and lack of wear on the driveline vs. all that shifting on a traditional truck.

They had to have considered the idea of a BYO range-extending genny in the bed vault.

Just think what a 4W steering system could add to the overall package. Tesla will have to come up with another name for that mode.

Back in the day, I truly lusted after a co-workers then new tech 4WS red Prelude. I couldn't afford new so I had a plan to buy it from them when they were done but a coolant hose break @ yr 5 while on a long trip to Houston with a very pregnant wife along with her mom changed my fate. That failure resulted in a new car for the return trip for the soon-to-be-mom. I wasn't ready to buy so losing that pearl..........

For what its worth... probably not much :) lol I have been watching every video and YouTube review of this .... uh... Electric thing :) lol ...that I can possibly find.

For starters, I am a HUGE EV fan, and hoping my Prius will be the last car I own, that uses any gas whatsoever... my stepping stone to purely EV. I'm also a big truck fan, and have owned 3 of them, including my baby... a super clean, low mileage F150 that I own now. And finally, I'm a big Tesla fan too. I think ALL of their cars look anywhere from great, to unbelievably beautiful ! (the 2020 Roadster)

So of course I had to watch the unveil, and Holy #$@# ! My first impressions were, "beyond hideous" ! So after looking at it for a few days, I still wouldn't say it was a "good looking vehicle" by any means, certainly not by traditional pickup truck standards.
But I am kind of getting over the shock, and while it will never be "pretty".... I think with those tires and wheels, and a flat black finish, it could certainly look "truck tough".
And the specs for that 3 motor model.... off the freaking charts ! If power, torque, and speed matter at all, then all the other truck manufacturers need to just forget about it. Because none of the ICE trucks are even close.

The more I think about it, I might actually consider one of these hideous things in the future. Granted, I will have plenty of time to decide... and to see how things pan out with the actual road ready models.

I've got a Honda Ridgeline that most would consider ugly. The utility of the vehicle makes it lovely in my eyes. Of course I paid about $22k for mine brand new and there is no way I'm spending $40k on a vehicle, ever (in today's dollars).

I'd like to see more about the longest short bed in the same footprint as an F150...

In spite of the broken windows I found the Cybertruck video tons better than Ford's Mustang Mach-E launch. They should be calling that thing the Explorer Mach-E or something. Maybe if Chevy comes out with an all electric SUV they will call it a Corvette Z06-E or something, that would be about the same thing...

What did @SlowTurd say when the first 4th gen pics started appearing? I better not repeat it. :)

I have no idea what he said, and apparently he hasn't posted here for over a year.
Even so, I'm kind curious why I should be concerned with the opinion of one guy who used to come to this forum ?
My opinion is, the newest Prius.... Or do I say, the newest Prii ? :) Lol ...are the best looking ones ever built. And honestly, I'm not even sure between the Prius Prime and my Prius LE, which looks best ? There are aspects I like about each better than the other.

Honestly, when it comes to looks, they all have horribly boring paint.... Besides a couple awesome colors that have been offered on the Prius C.

No doubt about it! The Prius looks better that the Prime or any other Toyota / Lexus with the big black "cowcatcher" grille.
Only in the US. Japan has this color.

Yeah I'll conceed: that was a low, 3rd gen chauvinistic blow. The styling (outside and in) is what it is. I was dismayed though, when the 4th gen spy photos started coming, am waiting and praying they change course for 5th gen, if that happens...

Yes, I've seen that color, and I love it :) Just so long as it has a hint of green. Straight yellow is hideous, but chartreuse is one of my favorite colors. Definitely would need blacked out trim, and dark tint though :)

Honestly, even with the 4th Gen with the vertical tail lights.... that looks kind of weird to me, like a freaking batmobile or something :) lol I SO prefer the horizontal tail lights starting in 2018. I was SO adamant about this when buying one.
Last week at the car wash, a guy was in a 2017 Prius LE, and he walked over and asked what year mine was. I told him a 2019. So he walks around and says, Oh you have the bett....... different tail lights :) Ha ! lol Come dude.... finish what you started ! They are better looking, right ? :) lol

I notice a lot of ultra-stylized front lights these days too, it's a real peacock show. I find it distracting, and kinda hard to judge how far away they are. Borders on hazardous.

I like functional; there's an eloquence to it that you can't beat.

They tend to be a fraction of the cost to replace too, in the event of a love tap.
