    So a compliance car?

Ahh well.... at least the 53kWh is larger than I thought it'd be. That would make it around 365km EPA rated (228 miles). I'm extrapolating from the Kona and its 64kWh (usable) battery since the UX is roughly the same in size.

If I'm making an educated guess, comparable. See post above.

Well more like comparable to the SR.

It doesn't, because the car does not exist yet ;)

Much of Mitsubishi's issues there was in supply. They couldn't build enough, and the US market is small potatoes for them.

Aside from Tesla, nobody has a large supply of batteries currently lined up. Expect supply issues to limit BEVs for the near future.

If Toyota brings a BEV to the US, I expect it to be at compliance levels, and that is the main reason for it being offered. PHEVs have less impact with meeting quotas for California's ZEV program, and they won't be able to sell enough Mirais to meet their obligation.

Sadly, that's the way I see it to. As much as I'd like to believe that Toyota will put out a proper, competitive EV (and they can do it. The Prime's innards are proof that they're capable of producing a very competitive EV), it looks like they'll only offer EVs where they're forced to do so (such as China and some European countries)

OMG! a giant fake grill? on an ev? why! (sigh) guess it's no big deal - since the press says we don't get one.
400km range rated .... that'd be ~248 miles on the european test cycle - 205+miles in the US.

Probably less, we will see what WLTP gives us in Europe.

You mold a clear, smooth side, the outside, of polycarbonate. The inside has the 'eye candy' (aka., sucker bait.)

Cleanmpg stated the 400km figure was NEDC; about 283km / 175 miles estimate for EPA.
