factory radio to factory display

    my Prius C 2014 has simple head unit without display. Is it possible to replace it with factory head unit with display? how to connect it correctly and to get all functions, such as navigation and fuel consumption and rear view camera as it is in cars with stock display HU?
    okay, I have to buy additional camera and gps module, but what about hybrid functions to be shown on this display?
    or it is better to install aftermarket radio and buy all essentials?

    It's totally up to you. The c makes it easier to do this than most any other version of the car.

    You can install a more modern stock system with a display, or you can go straight to the aftermarket.

    Aftermarket navigation is much better quality. There are ways to include hybrid displays on aftermarket systems, though it isn't the most straightforward.

    the main idea is to maintain stock functions,such as factory microphone, bluetooth, steering buttons and etc. and add some new for me like navi, cam and hybrid displays. I'm also interested in good sound quality, and the stock is not bad as well

    just do not have enough information how to organise hybrid displays on aftermarket radio. is there any additional accessories? or how to connect it properly?
    do you have any links with info about properly organising the hybrid displays on aftermarket radio?

    Broadly there are two ways to do this:

    one is to use a replacement stereo that supports the idatalink maestro module, and have that present the data to you.

    The other is to use one of the new, low cost android "carputer" head units which tend to include an interface to the OBDII diagnostics system. You would then use the software on it to set up the exact gauges you wanted. Build your own dashboard.

    wow, idatalink maestro module is really good thing for aftermarket radios.

    Do I need similar module if I will install prius C factory display like [​IMG]

    I don't know what you'd need for the other Toyota models, but I doubt you'd need any other module. The trick is getting one local to your car. The connectors and pin assignments change from one market to the next, so the almost-never-used Toyota stereo on my shelf would probably not be plug-compatible with your car.
