I'm looking at two different 2015 Prius v Five models, one with the advanced technology package. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this advanced technology package and whether you who have it think it is worth the extra money. Seems expensive to me. But I'm the type that drives my car for a long time and I don't want to cheap out and get some years down the road and wish I had gotten it.

Obviously only you can answer the question of "value". Look at the list of features and decide. The radar assisted speed control is a feature you'll use a lot. The audio upgrade is considerable.

The JBL audio and speakers combined with the Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure Alert might be worth an incremental $1500 to me. I am sure Toyota has at least a $2000 profit margin on this package alone.

This question is completely subjective. No one can answer it but you. Are you someone who always purchase top or upper trim? The way you phrased your question, it sounds like you are someone who appreciates all the bells and whistles of the AT package.

Dynamic cruise control is my must have feature for any car.

I paid $2500 for the ATP. Because it included the upgrade for the 7" head unit it cost more.
I refuse to live without a decent audio system, so it was worth it to me for that alone. Having used the speed control and collision warning systems I've since come to appreciate their value too. The parking system I have, (and the lane departure warning in the current models), is worthless IMO.

I always sorta lusted after the dynamic cruise control, don't have it on ours. Still, as far as it's ability to pace the car in front, I've rarely if ever needed this, cars in front are typically pulling away from me, lol. Still, I would appreciate the auto-braking, collision avoidance aspect. On the other hand, more stuff to go wrong?

I don't drive our Prius v Five/ATP (wife's "daily driver") very often but I sure love the DRCC (Dynamic Radar Cruise Control) in our Sienna Limited/ATP which is my "daily driver". The Pre-Collision System (PCS) in the Sienna sure saved my a$$ last year when a slower driver swerved into my lane last year while I was driving at about 60 mph - automatically slammed on the brakes at full force before I was able to lift my foot from the gas pedal and tightened my seat belt so much that my chest hurt for hours ... but I avoided hitting the other vehicle by inches and no damage was done.

Unfortunately, the IIHS found that the PCS on the early Prius v Five/ATP like we have (it's a 2012) was not very effective in reducing speed in emergency situations. I do not know if the IIHS has retested the PCS on the 2015 Prius v to see if it has been improved.

Regardless of how well PCS works, DRCC is wonderful - especially in congested Interstate Highway traffic. Vastly superior "all speed" versions of PCS and DRCC are being introduced in Lexus vehicles and will likely trickle down to Toyota brand vehicles soon.

Thanks to everyone who gave me input as to what they think about the package.

Worked well in the rain yesterday. Set the cruise, used MAX distance (3 bars) and just focused on keeping within the lanes lol.

I sold my v to a close friend (who's hatchback was totaled by a careless driver) with plans to purchase a '16 v with the ATP. As I age, the assistance of the safety features (DRCC, etc.) become more appealing. I purchased a '16 RAV4 Hybrid instead. Why? It was a question of whether to go with the better gas mileage of the v or the greater safety features of the RAV4 Limited. One would hope that the v (the high-tech vehicle of the Toyota line) would include the full range of high-tech safety features that are available on other Toyota vehicles. Perhaps next year--but I could not wait. Let me be clear: If the ATP packages of the two were the same, I would be driving a v. Its a great vehicle, probable better in many ways than the RAV4--with this one exception. I have been a member of this forum since I purchased my first Prius hatchback--among the first to be delivered in Atlanta. I'm sorry to go. My best wishes for 2016 and for all the years thereafter.

If you can get a great price on the ATC package, go for it. I think the GPA screen is larger but the biggest thing is the upgraded audio system. The stock Trim 5 that I have in my v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) (2012) has a really crappy audio system compared to the 2005 Prius 5 I have with the JBL system. If you can get the ATC for half the list price, consider that without the ATC, you'll have to spend big bucks for amps, speakers, equilizers, and a subwoofer. I wish I had gone for the ATC. It will help at resale. Stan in San Diego.

Sadly, it's now the only way to get the Panoramic Sunroof and that's ONLY on trim level 5. That's a bummer!

OTOH, there are those who don't want the sunroof even if it were free but do want all the safety features. Don't want the bigger wheels either.

I use the Dynamic Cruise control every time I drive the car. Its been great. I would defiantly buy it if you can. Took me some time to trust it but its very well designed and works great.

DRCC is worth the whole package. I've had it since my 2007 Infiniti. I'm about to get into a 2017 Prime and look forward to keeping that feature in all future vehicles. I pushed my girlfriend to get the DRCC in her 2016 NX200t and she loves it (considering she totaled her 2014 IS350 by rear ending someone).

Lane keep assist does not successfully keep me in the lane when I repeatedly tried it. I can parallel park without hitting stuff. Qi chargers are $35 on Amazon. The 11" screen is known to fail. Fake leather is otherwise known as Vinyl. I dislike Bluetooth phone calls due to background noise so I don't connect through it. Id get the base model and save the money. You decide.

I'm with you, but is there an 11" screen on a Prius v?
