Last night took a very short drive to Starbucks. Once arrived I wasn't able to open driver door. Tried lock and unlock many times and I hear things click but the door won't open no matter what. Lever moves just fine but the door was dead shut. Out of options, I had to climb out of passenger side, and went to investigate. Turned out a tiny piece of ice got stuck in the door handle and prevented it from returning all the way back to its original position. Once that's cleared, all is back to normal.
It's quite bizarre and have never ever happened to me before. In hindsight, I guess I could have rolled window down and tried to pull the handle from outside. In any case, just thought I'd share that you all.

Just the handle up? not the door - perhaps ajar was a wrong word sorry
also I suppose it wakes up from a handle lift and lights up interior lights

When the entire door is ajar, it's easy to exit the car. When only the handle though....

Why didn't you use the ejector seat option?

    Try it for yourself.
I suspect that only that one door would be affected.

My son used to play this flight simulator game (Chuck Yaris??), and would hit the ejector seat button, while flying over the runway, upside down.
