This was an interesting thread in another car forum I used to participate in (before buying the Prius), so I port it over here. I learned a bunch of offbeat things about my last car that people had discovered, and maybe this will be the same.

    I'll start off.....

On the steering wheel control for the radio, if you "double click" when you are at the bottom (or top) of a bank of channels, you will stay in that bank and go to the top (or bottom) of that same bank. A single click takes you to the next bank of channels.

We had ours for maybe 3 years before I noticed the upper glove box...

Trip A & B will not go pass 9,999.9 miles  Kept thinking no one else drives this car, so who keeps resetting my trip B miles driven?

Maintenance is very easy, and the brake pads last FOREVER. It’s a great car for teaching driving to teens.

It holds a LOT. I brought a boxed water heater home in it. I’ve camped in it... in 100 degree heat, you can run the AC all night and barely use any gas.

After trip to Alaska and tire blow-out in Yukon, I bought a full-sized rim and spare tire. I was surprised to find that it would fit in the place for the donut spare if I removed all the foam pieces and moved the jack into the compartment with the black plastic bin (just above the tire and below the floor sections).

Before taking your car in for any work at stealership or mechanic, press the ‘trip’ button to display lifetime miles driven. They will eventually erase trip A or B and both when they fumble through to write down lifetime miles.

The top glove box doesn’t hold enough alcohol, speaking from experience.

I don't know: every time the car is turned off, regardless of what displays were active, it shows the odo reading, for about 30 seconds. That's my "go to" when gassing up and recording the odo.

I was surprised how many people didn't know there were two recesses in the hatch to pull it down to close it.

Here's a weird one I confirmed after a week long; If your keyfob is low on battery and get the warning screen after powering car off, the low key fob battery screen goes away if your maintenance is due warning screen comes on when car is powered up. Been seeing the key fob low battery warning screen for 4 months, suddenly low bat screen dissapared after maintenance was due

One on each side of the inner plastic cover of the hatch.

They’re recessed so you reach around with your palms facing you.

Isn't there also a little air venting from the HVAC through the top glove box, to perhaps keep cool said bottle of champagne? Or is that in the VW Jetta, can't remember.

That I do know. Now if the person wanting to get the mileage driven would know.
