I've found the best thing to remove pine-sap to be rubbing-alcohol
    (…or isopropyl-alcohol (a.k.a. propan-2-ol) (…just sayin' ;))

I probably tried that, I tried most everything. Kerosene did the trick: a cloth dampened with it and a dab of car polish as well. I think kerosene (or similar) is a main ingredient in bug-and-tar removal car products?

Yeah, reading up: chemically similar to kerosene, but a little purer, less "oily", and less smell?

Too, I like to use up what I have, and it was basically a few tablespoons of kerosene rattling around in a liter bottle, left over from when I was cleaning motorcycle chain, about 3 decades back.

I actually quite like it ... looks very appropriate for the task. And reminds me of the Multipla in more than one way

Yes, the Multipla is butt ugly (edit: @Dimitrij below: if you didn't say it, I will !!! It's UGLY), but I was very impressed when seeing one with three people in it AND a motorcycle in the back... (Not as impressed as a Polish van transporting a Mazda 6 ON ITS SIDE in the back though...)

As for the OP's pic: they have those running between the parking garage and the hospital I frequently visit. Only a few hundred meters/yards but it being a hospital, many of the people there may have trouble walking that distance. Great solution!

We also see these below a lot, mainly during open days in universities for showing the town to prospective students and their parents. But the plastic cover (full cover, different from pic below) has the zippers on eye-level, so you're constantly ducking down to see anything at all. Very poor design.

^ I didn't say Multipla was ugly. It was an unusual, but a perfectly practical, voluminous 6-seater.

The three seats in front was unusual in asomewhat normal car. Later copied by Honda. And Fiat may have copied it from Simca... :D

(Friend of my parents used to have a Simca Matra Bagheera... 3 seater sportscar, predecessor of the 3 seater McLaren???)
