After all the opinions, I’ve decided not to mess with individual cells and testing, loading, balancing, etc. I’m looking at 4 options now for a battery. 1) I have a friend at a Toyota Dealer who has a discount and will let me know his price for a new one. EST.= $1,600+ 2) Greenbean battery with lifetime warranty. If I can get it and install it myself. EST. $1,400+. 3)NewPriusBattery - the 14 cell one that I rebuild in my battery case. 4) Madera (Calif.) Toyota online price - $1,700. I drive 5 hours to get it.
I have a MacBook Laptop and not sure Toyota’s software will work. I’ll return the scanner to Harbor Freight (no big deal). I just may call or text you. Thanks for the information.

That Dorman battery isn't "new", and would be a draino crap shoot at best. To put this into perspective, even Autozone and Oreillys stopped selling them (online).
Couldn't find any Prius model "new battery" offerings at the link below, was there another link or something I missed?

The "used/rebuilt" Greentec product is also suspect, best to simply avoid such. For that kind of money you can buy new.

I’ve read all of their positive review, however they are all from 2019 and not long term... Hmmm..

I’ll go with the new ones as they are not that much more. And I get a better feeling from new.

Do you have to trade your battery in at the dealership? You need to check on that.....

New battery from Toyota is the best option.

It involves some effort and transferring some parts from your old battery to the new one.

There will likely be a $1200+ refundable core fee.

Basically you go buy the battery from the dealership.
Pay them battery price plus core fee price.
Bring new battery back to your home.
    Take out your battery.
Transfer parts from your battery to new battery.
Bring your battery back to the dealership.
They give you back the core fee.

Make sure no writing or visible tampering with battery or they will reject it and you are out the $1200.
That means you have to drive to Madera (Calif.) twice......
I would rather have the newpriusbatteries.com than the toyota batteries.

Tracy Toyota could be less expensive, and slightly closer. Best to call around and see who might price match.
