Had the nice idea that maybe instead of having to install actual wiring into a prius to set up a subwoofer system, maybe this jbl boombox that is supposably "the loudest " portable speaker on the market right now might be able to connect to the prius bluetooth ? Anyone Know?

That sounds like an awesome idea if it works, but would you wire your phone to the cars integrated USB up front to do phone calls?

I am not sure you can establish a bluetooth connection from the car to the speaker, as the car only receives connections as does the speaker.

It depends if the boombox model has output port(s) or not. If so, bluetooth to the boombox (not to the Prius) from your phone, and audio cable (output) from the boombox to the Prius aux input port.

(Unfortunately many portable speakers don't have output ports. And many of the new JBLs apparently couple only wirelessly.)

The partybox 1000 has output ports, but is $1,200. There might be other brands with output ports.

This would be a good new feature for the jbl stereo upgraded stereo systems in the Prius, the True Wireless coupling feature, to couple to a jbl boombox.

The good news? You can charge boom boxes at least with a cigarette lighter inverter. Mine is 300 watts.
