Looking into replacing my gen 3 Prius with a Gen 4 just wondering how the power is with the Gen 4 . Likes and dislikes between the 2

Similar power more-or less - but more accessible because the car handles much, much better.

It has the same amount of power (the rating is different... hence the 134hp on the Gen 3 vs. 121hp on the Gen 4). They tuned the torque curve differently so that the 0-30 ish is sprightlier and the 30-60 is a bit toned down. The net result is a similar or identical 0-60 time but in the city, the Gen 4 feels more peppy because of that change.

    Likes:
    • Much more comfortable ride (more sophisticated suspension)
    • Much more confident handling (stiffer chassis, sophisticated suspension)
    • Quieter (laser welds for a stiffer body and more sound insulation as long as you don't buy the base model)
    • Awesome bi-LED headlights
    • Now available with AWD-e for light-duty slush or wet roads in the city
    • More comfortable front seats
    • Taller cargo area (at the expense of the underfloor cargo box)
    • Insanely fuel efficient (the Gen 4 is underrated... the same goes for the Corolla Hybrid and RAV4 Hybrid of the same generation..whatever Toyota did to tweak the latest HSD did wonders for mpg)
    • Quicker steering ratio (well at least compared to the 15" wheels of the Gen 3. I can't remember if the Persona got the quicker of the two settings for the Gen 3... I do believe the Gen 4 is a toucher quicker than the 17" wheel models of the Gen 3 but the difference is more dramatic if you came from a Gen 3 with the slower steering ratio)
    • Higher trim levels get more soft touch material
    Dislikes:
    • Smaller glovebox
    • Loss of storage space (no upper glovebox, smaller centre console box, loss of flying bridge tray, loss of large cargo underfloor bin)
    • No CD player (on models with 11.6" MFD)
    • Cannot combine power moonroof with 17" wheels
    • Loss of rear legroom
    • Not as techy as the Gen 3 (or even Gen 2) was compared to its competitors
    • The Prius Prime can be cheaper than the Gen 4 with tax credits
