If you've been checking the market, drop here the link for the product and describe why you think it's the best option.

Depends on how deep your pockets are...

I went with #85474 (universal) here:

    Moroso Universal Fit

But there's a lot available for around $30~40

JEGS is another good "candy store". They might actually ship to Canada, not sure. Too, you can just browse, then check with Amazon.ca. Or local automotive specialty shops: they might order it in for you.

Did you figure out any advantage?

EDIT: also found this vid talking about OCCs and various price ranges.

It has a bottom drain, which works for me. I have it mounted on the lower cross beam, and when doing oil change (every 6 months, with the engine underpanel off, it's readily accessible, easy to drain. It's referred to as "large body".

I see there's also smaller ones, without the bottom drain. The bottom is knurled, make it easier to grip to just unscrew the cup. You could almost just let something like that dangle? Not sure how heavy it is.

What most are doing is cutting the existing PCV hose, splicing in extension hoses, and running it to an oil catch can mounted somewhere. Just a heady thought: with a compact OCC, with straight spigots coming out, 180 degree apart, maybe there's enough room on the existing PCV hose to just cut out a section and patch in the OCC? Not sure.

What is the I.D. of the PCV hose?

    Thanks!

I think it's actually some metric size, and you want to be pushing it onto something slightly larger outside diameter. 3/8" fuel line, and 3/8" splices/spigots, seem to work fine.

And of course, at the intake manifold end it flares out, which is one reason most are just cutting the OEM hose and splicing in.

I did some measurement on a new hose I bought (in case I want to return the car to stock):

nominal inside diameters of the hose between PCV valve and intake mainifold:
valve end: 3/8" (new pcv hose id: 9mm)
manifold end: 5/8" (new pcv hose id: 17mm)
Manifold spigot shank OD: 19 mm (flare-out at end is greater)
hose part number: 12261-37060 (purchased, can be used to restore system to stock condition)

How can one review or rank products manufacturer in 2020 when it’s still 2019? Okay maybe Marty McFly.

Give it a couple of weeks, we're getting there.

Not made in 2020; good to buy in 2020 made anytime before that time ... there's the difference :sneaky:. McFly can take a rest.

All oil catch can's work about the same way.

Just having one will catch about 90% of the oil/water mixture before having it go into the intake of the engine.

This $25 one is what I use. It is exceptionally well made for the price. The hoses are crap. I replaced them with 3/8 inch fuel line.

Why don't you do a modicum of research? There are tons of threads on it, the underlying principal hasnt changed. An OCC is an OCC, it's a jar. Someone on here is using a mason jar full of brillo pads and it works great.

One ploy is a pair, the second scavenges what got through the first.

The above video alludes to that, but just to compare performance.

I feel the pain in that question. Not being lazy; I got a truckload of research and work on my hands right now. In a way this is research of those having done the research :p. I'll use this to speed up my future research. I couldn't find a post talking specifically of the best and whatnot so I thought I'd make a thread.

Mishimoto is one of the better designed catch cans, and come in a large and small size.
