Had a module go bad and am now in the process of charging/discharging all of the cells to balance them and have been using this guide:

Gen II Prius Individual Battery Module Replacement | Page 2 | PriusChat

My question is when I am cycling the module, do I charge it first or discharge it first? The settings that user uses says to "DSCH<CHG for 3 cycles." I guess the < is confusing me as to which way it is pointing because he has it going right to left. So is the cycle to charge then discharge or to discharge then charge?

That setting will perform the discharge first, which is what I always do. It has some advantages.
    1. It will give you a measurement of exactly how much energy was in that module "straight from the car" prior to it being messed with. This is great information because it will clearly show you how balanced or unbalanced your modules are with respect to one another.
    2. It puts the modules in a known state of discharge, with practically zero energy remaining in them, prior to charging.
