....wish I'd have gotten this car instead. https://images.app.goo.gl/Te9VGq2EidXE4hST7 Better paint. Better wheels. And I LOVE that it is an "actual" hatchback. Similar mileage.... But even if it was a couple miles less, it would be so worth it. Wonder how much "I'd be punished" to make a trade now ? I've put 8800 on my new Prius in 7 weeks.... What do you guess I'd owe... $6 K ? More ? Hmmm. One cool thing, I bet the stereo system I put in the Prius could be taken right out, and dropped right in the Corolla. I believe the DSP was for any Toyota... Hmmm.
Give your head a shake, don't do it! A test drive will hopefully turn you off it. But don't. Just in case.
Well, it is available as a hybrid "in some places".... Like the UK, Australia ? ... But not in the US 'yet' ☹️ Hey Mendel, I respect your opinion, but just curious why you feel this way ? I'm sure it's quite comparable in many aspects. Probably the exact same power plant and drivetrain. As for handling, one might think that a lower sedan, would handle better than a taller hatchback, but then my GF's 2016 Kia Soul, a much higher box on wheels, handles great ! Every bit as good as my Prius. Pretty surprising really. Her Soul is actually a great car, except that it gets cr@p mileage with the all gas 2.0 liter. She was falling in love with the Corrola XLE Hatch in an awesome bronze mettalic.... But as I told her, if your trying to trade a good car, which you already own, just for the sake of mileage, "it has to be a hybrid" ! I think the gas model hatch they had, only got like 12 mpg more than her Kia. The hybrid would get like 26 mpg better ! Well in a "few years" my Prius will be just about worn out. I'm only expecting 4-5 years. But it looks like I'll have to wait until at least next year anyway. Hopefully the Hybrid Hatchback Corrola's will be available in the US by then.
But it was fun showing off the stereo system to the dealer that sold me my Prius.... He said it was maybe the best sounding system he had ever heard, in any car, let alone a Prius Like I have said, it's not as loud as my truck, but because of the DSP, it's even more balanced. Certainly better for a daily driver.
Very simple: you've just purchased a 2019 Prius Prime. And promptly customized it. And now you want to trade in? For a Corolla? It's good fate has intervened, delayed your new fancy's arrival. Addendum: edited out "Prime".
Well sure, from that standpoint. Granted, about $1000 of that $1500 stereo upgrade would come with me. Just saying, the Hatchback, the tires and wheels, and the paint options on the Corrola just make my Prius look pathetic..... And again, I do love my Prius. Not a Prime though. It's an LE. Oh well. It sucks to think how much I will have to pay when my trade has 60K miles on it, vs. the only 9K it does right now
The ''new'' Toyota Corrola is the rebranded Toyota Auris, build in UK. Sold as hybrid in Europe and elsewhere. Now built on the same platform as the Prius, TNGA. But even if hybrid, it cannot get the same mpg as the Prius Gen4. But it is cheaper FYI, in Sweden for example Toyota is not selling the Gen4 any more since 2017, only the Prime and now the new Corrola hybird , ahem, same old Auris, new shell.
Why didn't you get the c? They still appear to have plenty of 2019s left to sell given how forcefully they are soliciting me, pleading with me to trade in our 2018 on a 2019. Don't forget, you can get them in more exciting colors than "Saltine Mist" or "Bedpan Silver." That said I don't think I'd trade soon, in your shoes. It's good that you can bring your accessories with you, but if you paid for labor that's sunk. At $500 lost, that's what, $9/day to listen to it for 2 months? Don't get me wrong, I can see writing off a loss to "be happier", but the thing would have to be leaving me pretty darned unhappy to pay that much for that little use.
Yeah the "c" and "v" are both 2019 last production years in the US Both are hatchbacks edit... ooops i suppose just the "c"
The C is okay....but I felt it was a bit of a downgrade from the LE. The styling seemed a bit more dated too. Also, the C took a bit more hit on gas mileage than I believe the Corolla does. I did like the C a lot though, for the hatch and a couple of the paint options.
Go get in and out of it a few times. The roof-line is so low that, unless you're s short person, it would be miserable to live with - as are most Toyota cars. The Prius and the Tacoma were the The primary cargo for my vehicles is ... me, and I don't like shoe-horning myself into a poorly designed entryway over and over again. Would have been OK when I was a teenager, but not now in my 40's. Fine for a sports / race-inspired car, NOT fine for a commuter & daily use vehicle.
Hmmm. I wouldn't suspect that by looking at it. I'd expect it to be the same as my Prius, if not a touch taller ? But I won't doubt you without trying it.
Do what makes you happy. Life is short. That said I’m really excited about getting a Prius again. I’m a Jeep guy but the Prius will be the prefect daily driver.
Well like I say, I do enjoy driving the Prius.... And I love the mileage. To be honest, I'm talking about this more than anything, just because of the styling. I freaking love those hatchback Corrola's ! But if I couldn't get a hybrid, that is a deal breaker.
You mean like a sunroof ? I believe so... That is a nice red Prius. I might have gotten that color if my buddy hasn't already gotten one 6 months before me. Didn't want to look like twins when hanging out in the airport waiting lot lol
Hey Mendel, read what they say about the Corolla hatch vs the coupe. I'd have to believe it would be a similar comparison from the Corolla hatch to a Prius as well. Just sportier all the way around. The 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid Sedan Is The Smartest Pick In The Lineup Yes, if you can't tell, this is bothering me. But hey, at least I have the amazing sound system now.... And with gas finally falling below $3 in Sacramento, I filled from darn near empty to full on $24 ! That's freaking amazing
