I just bought a new set of steel winter wheels and tires that had been on a Corolla, and want to make sure that I don't have any problems. They're 15" 5x100 et33. The et33 offset is what I am wondering about. I see the stock wheels were 15" with et45 offset. I was able to install them and they don't appear to hit or rub. Would I have any longer term issue using these wheels?

If they don't rub you're fine. You may try turning the wheel to the stops for left and right while driving slowly to see if the tires rub.

My guess is that their fine.

I'd suspect they're the same as what I've been using since winter of 2010/11:

    snow tire: Michelin X-Ice2 195/65R15
Corolla steel rim, part no: 42611-02471 (2003-2008 corolla or matrix, CE, LS, S)
steel rim lug nuts, part no: 90942-01007 (plain, open-ended, galvanized)

In my case the rims were recommended and installed by a local dealership. I don't believe that Toyota part number is stamped on the rim, but there are some identifying marks if you want to compare.

    I suspect you're all good.

FWIW, to prevent the hubs rusting out, a 2" ABS end cap (plumbing department part, readily available, has ID of 2.375") makes an ok cover. It's slightly loose, so what I do is push on a rubber band* first, then tap the cap on.

(about 3/16" wide, cut from an old bicycle inner tube)

Awesome mine came with hubcaps so I don't think I need additional covers. I've turned the wheel side to side and had no problems. Mine came with almost new blizzak tires. We just had 6" of snow and they did a good job keeping me from getting stuck.
