My 2010 lvl III is still a child at almost 85k miles. It burns no oil. I actually think the level rises slightly. EGR system and intake cleaning @ 71k miles and it was bad. No startup knock thanks to OCC. I run 0w40 Mobil1, 2-3 fuel system cleaners a year, and 1 oz/5gal TCW-3 for an UCL.

What do you like for 2-stroke oil, mjoo?

I use Pennzoil Marine found at Walmart. The TCW-3 is supposed to have some good cleaners and lubricity. I notice the engine is quieter. I hope it helps keep the rings clean

FWIW, I have a 2010, 120K miles, mostly highway, and, like most Prius owners, gently driven. The car uses almost a quart of oil in 9 - 10K miles. I use mostly 0-20 synthetic, but for extended summer trips, I'll put in 5-30 synthetic.

2011 with 79,000 . No oil consumption what so ever , nada.
0-20w , full synthetic - brand varies . Mobile one, Napa (Valvoline) , Castrol, etc .....whatever is on sale , but always 0-20w full synthetic.
Always a Napa gold filter (Wix) .
I am burning NO oil at all , and I am going with the 10,000 mile oil change rotation . Oil changes are always done at the SECOND oil change monitor warning screen.
I dont drive like grandma either, car is driven hard . No pulse and glide here ,lol .

2010 Prius III with almost 156K miles (251K km) on the odometer. In the 30K miles (48K km) since I bought it about 1.5 years ago, I've added a total of 16 ounces (0.47 L) of oil. The only times I've seen any decrease at all in oil level is after trips with much heavy throttle use (significant acceleration and/or quite fast highway speeds).

Other notes: I check the oil about every week. I carefully scribed the dipstick with lines so I have a more accurate visual reference to changes in level. I take the car in for oil & filter changes about every 5K miles, have been using Toyota 0W-20 synthetic oil, and Wix 57064XP filter.

2013, just turned over 82,000 miles this week. No oil consumption. I've used exclusively Quaker State 0W-20 (since that tends to be the cheapest name-brand at Wally World) and Valvoline filters I got online for something like $2.80 per--so I bought 10.
