What’s that noise?!?!?!?!

    Hey all! It’s time to play your favorite game, What’s That Noise?!?!?! So the car is a 2006, 220k miles. In California. Warmed up it will make this noise rhythmically at stoplights or while parked either in drive or park. Can’t tell exactly where it’s coming from. Any ideas? I uploaded it to YouTube since the file option only allowed images.

    An intermittent pump noise typically is produced by the brake actuator pump maintaining pressure in the system. If you repeatedly depress the brake pedal while the Prius is READY and get that noise, that is proof the sound is from that actuator pump.

    hmmm, the thing is that it never made this noise prior to this month.

    If you click the YouTube link about half way through there’s a pump-ish noise

    AC compressor cycling? That's normal. Turn off AC if noise stops then it was that.

    What point of the video is the sound at? Voice from 00:07...00:10 sounds exactly like air conditioning.

    Well I’ll be darned. It was the ac compressor! Is that a normal noise for that ?
