Just arrived home from Temple, Texas, with my new Seaside Pearl Pkg. 6!

    Wow, I can't believe it. B)

It was about a 65 mile drive and I averaged nearly 42 mpg; not bad with the A/C running. Gonna read up on the owner's manual tonight; I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions for you folks.

This was a long time coming; well over a year. Thanks to all of you for your support and advice.

Note: this is a crappy cell phone photo!

    All my best,

    Steve

Yes: I'm already flummoxed by the array of storage nooks and crannnies. :)

    Take care,

I add my congratulations, Steve. And yes, it will take a while to learn a lot about your new car, but you've already learned enough to drive it adequately. So ENJOY it while you learn 'more stuff' - and enjoy your learning process, too!

Congrats Steve!! I have only had mine since last Friday, but it hasn't taken to long to get the hang of. Enjoy.

Welcome Steve! Glad to see another Seaside Pearl has joined the chat.

And better than being flummoxed by an array of crooks and nannies... ;)

I am tempted with an array of witty responses, but they would lead this thread down a political road, and I don't want to go there...

Tell you what I'm most thrilled about so far: watching the ICE shut down whenever I take my foot off the accelerator, or when I come to a stop. What a relief not to be unnecessarily putting pollutants into the atmosphere when there's no need to burn gas. It makes stop and go traffic less agonizing.

    Take care,

    Steve

Heh, thanks! Well, I can tell you first hand (and this is after 10 hours of ownership ;) ) you have a lot to look forward to!

I gave the dealer a wide berth when it came to colors: "anything but black or white." And I must say I'm very pleased with Seaside; it's really very sharp without being flashy (not that there's anything wrong with "flashy," either).

    Best regards,

    Steve

Enjoy your new baby. Of course I don't understand why you didn't want black - mine is a beauty, but there is no bad Prius. There's a lot of information here on PriusChat, I'm still learning. I know that you'll love your new car.

Don't get me wrong; I think the black is stunning! I just couldn't justify it in this Texas heat!

    Take care,

    Steve

:) Next it will be the stiffening plate and the body side moldings, the shark fin antenna, the Vinyl matts, the Prius hybrid decals and then your wife will say thats a sharp car Thanks, and drive away with your new baby. Thats what happened to me last year. This year I bought an 06 for me and now she wants the new one again! In the end, I got the 05 with 20,000 miles on it and she got the new car AGAIN. I can't win.

    Steve, welcome!

We've owned ours for just over 6000 miles and I'm still learning new stuff! The stiffening plate is a good purchase and I'd definitely go with the side body moldings, not to mention there's ton of info to read up on here at priuschat. So sit down and get comfy. It's going to be a long, incredible ride! :D

    Take care
