Prius Prime Mates - As we transition to a New Year (and Decade), I look back both to the automobile advances in the 2010 decade and ahead to the 2020 decade of what I'd like to see ahead, both which the Prius Prime has illuminated me to - past: advanced safety features (specifically warning sensors and adaptive cruise control), future: heads up display giving us more augmented reality (think Terminator). How about you? Happy New Year to all ⏳

I want the electric pickup truck to be a reality:).

Need to replace the Prime at some point and getting an electric pickup truck would help convert more of my staff ;).

Only so many of them will buy into a sedan:cool:.

    Here’s to progress(y) .

2022 Prime thoughts: More range due to solid state batteries being used, exterior looks similar to the Mirai concept and a more conventional dash that is more intuitive.

    First, Happy New Year!

I'd love the Prime to continue on, or the Prius name to continue into the near future. I think Toyota is on the right track adding the RAV4 to the plug-in lineup, and hopefully the Camry is next . This will get more people, and a lot more people, comfortable with plugging in their vehicles and avoiding the petrol bandits. Sure wish a dedicated Toyota BEV would be added sometime, but it seems clear that Toyota isn't interested unless it is in Asia, which has mandated that soon.

For me, I'll definitely be taking a pass the next go 'round. What Toyota did lining up behind the current administration's desire to reverse fuel efficiencies soured this driver off the brand. That, and after 3 Prii with the current one needing little to no gas, I am very ready for a dedicated BEV. That will probably take the form of a model Y. Don't get me wrong. I love my Prime, and it has been doing a stellar job thus far. Not one quality complaint from me (except the below). It has been the gateway drug to the next step.

Infotainment is where they need to concentrate. All consumer goods revolve around the ergonomics of touch and ease of use. Where they are currently with that 11.x inch screen is in the abysmal category. The quality is lacking there as well. Pretty much everything else is well designed, IMO.
