Been driving with this issue for the last 2 years. Always have to pull the brake pedal back up. I assume it’s the brake master cylinder.

You should check your brake fluid and change it.

Replacing the master cylinder/pedal assembly with a used unit solved the issue.

I know this is an old thread.

I had the same intermittent issue. When I would hit the brake it wouldn’t want to release on its own. I would have to use my foot and pull on the back side of the brake to get the brakes to release. If I didn’t pull back on the brake pedal, and I would accelerate it would eventually release on its own.

I seem to have resolved the issue when I bled the brake system. It wasn’t an immediate fix, it took some time to clear it up. The only thing I can think of is there was some “chit” in the system.

Bringing this old thread back to life because my daughter’s 2010 is having the same sticking pedal trouble.

Assuming it is the master cylinder, I tried to source a used one from a local salvage yard. I’m assuming they found more value in the part after I ordered (and paid) because they now claim no availability after having more than 5 cars with them listed just a week ago when I ordered…

So, I have my $150 back, but wanted to ask before spending closer to $550 for a new one!

Did your fluid flush remain a long time fix? I’d gladly flush and replace fluid if that’s all is necessary, but will obviously do what needs to be done for my kiddo’s safety!
