upgrading a 2012 v radio model 10 to model 11

    I want to replace the OEM non xm radio 57910 in my '12 Prius v model 2 with an upgraded OEM radio that has xm radio 57911, is the harness stubbed out for this upgrade and will I need anything else changed to have it work properly? Thanks!

    Doubtful the harness is all there. I know the antenna is different as well as the cable from the antenna to head unit. The unit with xm satellite will also have navigation which adds parts as well The pic shows the three antenna assemblies with cables. The xm satellite version has three coax cables one of which is for xm. 0B2364DF-4F1D-4079-807F-1A4EC16281E4.jpeg

    Thanks for the information, I would have preferred to have it integrated but, It is not that important. it's a shame they don't sell those little pocket satellite radios anymore, I would prefer that over needing to have an "installation kit" and a mount glued to my dash.....

    You could try to find a complete setup at a junkyard and get the antenna with preamp, antenna cable, gps antenna etc. I believe it would have to be integrated on the car's network as well which might be the trickiest part. Might be a dealer thing. A lot of work when an aftermarket might work as well. If you have unlimited data on a cell phone, you can get portable XM setup and just rig it in for trips. XM will also give you online access for yourcell. Around town just use the cell’s bluetooth.
