Advertising Prius

    Late 2019- early 2020: Just been watching Car Adv in local newspapers, and TV. Toyota is advertising all there models but not Prius versions. We are in Texas.

    2 Thoughts
    Prius are selling well and they do not need to advertise.
    All the other models could be selling better - need improve sales.

    OR
    Prius is being replaced ?

    Creative thoughts ?

    prius is selling poorly, and they've given up all hope.

    sedans selling poorly, suv's and trucks are HOT!

    they are trying to figure out what might invigorate gen 5 (2022 model year)

    Prius is rarely ever advertised.

    That's the way in has been since the beginning.

    Toyota's approach is to let owner endorsements speak for Prius.

    prius family down 20% from 2018 to 2019. probably not due to lack of advertising though.

    An endorsement for plugging in that manner is exactly the step-forward needed to make hybrids the default choice. It's how traditional vehicles will be phased out.

    Know your audience.

    With the 2020 Corolla and Camry both offering hybrid versions that are on par with the MPG of the Prius they don't need to move the Prius. My dealer never has many Priuses in stock and the ones they do have never stick around long.
