My prius is a 2005 with cloth seats so i figured what the hell and used my trusty 3/8” rachet with an exention and a 14mil socket and removed the front seats, rear seat cushion and seatbacks. The guy at the junkyard counter charged me $90 and i was on my way, albiet exhausted from the texas heat.

After about 2 hours of labor i got the new interior put in and im really happy with the way it turned out. The new seat are noticably more comfortable and while the reay seats have a stain its still a large improvement over my old busted cloth seats.

Update: I purchased a leather center console lid at the junkyard today for $5. Replacement takes 30 seconds: you open the lid, unscrew the 4 hinge screws, pop open the 2-piece lid to remove, and install is reverse of removal. Has to be one of the cheapest and easiest mods a prius hobbyist can do, with noticable improvement. Here’s the leather lid installed next to the old one:

Did a quick cleaning, very happy with results of new console lid. Comparison shot against post #2 of this thread:

Wow it looks awesome! If you clean and condition the leather a few times a year lather will last forever.
