I did check online and I saw nothing. However, I was at a local Toyota dealer and I was told to make sure I check with a mechanic because they have "better updates". The dude had a lot of stutters and difficulty to find a way to describe those "better updates". This must be soft language bullshit for reading codes and having a list of known issues due to design that they don't want to publicly acknowledge.

    EDIT:

Official Toyota North America letters concerning Gen 3 Brake Recall - look on page 5 and see the indicated dash lights; the same as in my case.

Dude - the same dash lights come on for any of the couple hundred things that can go wrong with the brake system.

That's why it gives trouble codes.

    yup

I won't guarantee all four lights for all possible conditions, but for a great many of them. Although ABS, ECB, VSC/TRAC are considered different functional systems, they're all handled by the same ECU, and while the trouble codes are broken down into separate tables for each 'function', the tables have codes that refer to each other. For example, blink codes 43 and 45 appear in the ABS code table and refer to an ECB issue, 36 appears in the ECB table and refers to an ABS issue, VSC code 43 means hey there's an ABS issue, etc. So it's quite common that a primary code in any of the functional areas will be repeated by codes in the other areas, and all the corresponding dash lights will be on. When you retrieve the codes, it's important not to be overwhelmed by the number of codes (or throw up your hands and say "the car is insane, must be the 12 volt battery!"), but just to sift through the codes that only point to other codes, and focus on the code or codes that report the originating issue.

Update: it seems Toyota is going to fix it under the JZB called W35 here in Quebec - they had no clue what JZB is. I got an appointment next week.

I got the car back. Did a few km here in the neighborhood. Can someone tell me on their cars that function well: When you turn the car off completely and you press the brake pedal, does your booster run a bit as you depress (every time, a few seconds for each depressing)? Key detected by the car. I don't recall it doing that.

Other than this, when hitting a bump, randomly I'd hear a short beep. I saw the door open sign light up quickly - a flash - so something, maybe the trunk wasn't closed properly. But I thought I also saw something red flash with a short beep as well on the bottom left side corner of the warning lights panel; not sure 100%; I think it might be the red triangle with an exclamation mark from what I see in a google search ... anybody has a link to Prius 3rd gen dashboard lights?

Update: never mind the beeping - it was just the trunk half open. The brakes seem to work fine.

Yes, the brake booster fix was great; that issue never came back.

The first problem here was the brake booster fixed by toyota then bad calipers from 3rd party manufacturer. The piston's seals not working properly; and my new 3rd party dics are slightly crooked. So if you look around you gonna see another long thread with brakes heating from me. Buy oem replacement parts if you can.
