    Hey everyone,

My 2012 Plug-In just began making a really loud rattle underneath (sounds like front-driver side), but only when it's using gas. No rattling at all when in EV mode. Plastic cover to gas tank coming loose? I was hoping a bit of ice got inside something and was rattling. It hasn't been warm enough to melt away that possibility.

Anybody have this happen and or have a suggestion?

    Many thanks!

sounds like a loose exhaust heat shield, or exhaust hanger

Something must be loose on the engine or exhaust. When I first got my PiP, it suddenly started making a rattle at certain engine rpms. I opened the hood to discover the hood's prop rod holder had popped out of the hood and the rod had been just laying on the engine. But that noise was kind of front center and it was abundantly obvious as soon as I opened the hood. :D
