My 2006 Prius (170,000 miles) has suddenly developed a clicking sound in the Hybrid system(?) [IMG] Does anyone have a thought on what I'm in store for?

Any warning lights on the dash? It sounds like a relay (mechanical switch) of some sort... Are you sure it's coming from the Inverter?

I'm not sure it is coming from the inverter, if that is what the aluminum casing is. It just sounds the loudest in that area.

Get a 3 foot length of narrow dried wood and put one end to your ear and the other end on various parts of the engine and carefully try to figure where the clicking is loudest when the engine is running.
