Pick Up a 2020 Limited Trim Prius Few Questions

    Hello All,

    I picked up my 2020 Prius in the limited trim this past Monday. So far I am loving it!! Came from a 2007 Infiniti G35, loved the car but after 112,000 miles and mounting repair costs decided to go with a Prius. Granted I had the opportunity to rent one through Avis while on vacation last year (I think it was a 2018 Prius 4) so I knew what i was getting into. So far I'm loving the car, sips gas and has a lot of tech and is quite comfortable. People rag on Prius' all the time, but they aren't slouches and the styling is just different - but in a good way - you won't mistake it for anything else which brings me to a few questions I have -

    1. My limited Prius came with 15 inch rims which confused me b/c I thought the limited came standard with 17s - at least according to the online configurator? Not that I mind, but I was curious as to whether anyone had, had them swapped by the dealer (for a pretty penny I am sure)

    2. Currently the car is running the Enesave Dunlops - seem to be decent and I was concerned with the noise complaints that I had read about, but so far they don't seem that nosy as compared to other cars I have driven/ridden in. I've tried to look it up but is there a generally objective rating for which tires are best? I know that tire noise/comfort/performance can be subjective.

    3. All weather interior and cargo mats - where is the best place to get them? I seem that they are for sale through Toyota, but wasn't sure if that was the best place?

    4. Entune 3.0 Applications - From what I have read on here this seems to be dying - but I wanted to confirm as to how many applications should I see on the screen? I have like 6 applications but could not find out whether more were available?

    The sales brochure (PDF) says 17-inch wheels are standard on the Limited grade, but 15-inch wheels are available as part of the Premium Convenience Package, which also includes the moonroof.
    The government’s Uniform Tire Quality Grading system evaluates treadwear, temperature resistance, and traction, but not noise, ride quality, or handling characteristics.
    If you want Toyota mats, the lowest prices are from dealers selling online. The list price for the rubber floor mats (PT908-47190-20) is $169, but a dealer near me sells them for $116 or so, plus shipping and tax; see parts.toyota.com for part numbers and list prices for other accessories.

    The 'best' tires in your size that are Low Rolling Resistance are Continental TrueContact Tour at UTQG: 800 A A

    in Europe, there are grades for how LRR a tire is, but not in the US. Tire Rack does competitive reviews, but remember they are trying to sell tires.

    Also, they may well be driving a different size, I found my 16" Michelins on my v to be quite different than my previous 15" on my Gen 2.

    With the Premium Convenience Package (moonroof), the 15" wheels are one-piece, with no inserts, a positive thing in my opinion.

    Entune isn't the best infotainment, for sure. Have you read about being able to project current weather radar images onto the navigation map? I think I did, but haven't been home to try on my vehicle. Maybe there will be an update to Carplay and Android Auto, someday.

    Another app that may be worth learning about is Toyota Remote Connect. It seems to have a remote start function, among others, which can be useful for some folks.

    Thanks for all of the responses! As for the 15inch rims - yeah can't believe I missed that but I was looking at the configurator and there it was.

    With regard to the weather map - have not tried that functionality yet and on the subject of remote connect tried it and it said my vehicle was not supported.

    The 15" wheels are the more fuel efficient option, the more comfortable one, and same-spec cars will out-accelerate one with 17".

    The 17" benefit of lower sidewalls comes into play in areas where twisty-turny roads are the norm - it will out-handle the 15", but in Texas - with your roads - you may have got the right option for your area.

    The low profile tires were uncomfortable on my 2009 touring edition. 195.45/16. Replaced with 215.50/16, much better on the bumps and corrected the speedometer!

    I’m a big fan of smaller wheels for ride quality considerations. The only thing I don’t like about our 15s as compared to the 17s is that the entire package to my eyes looks more pleasing with the 17s, due to their being lower profile.
