It's not slipping because there's nothing that can slip unless it somehow stripped its gears.

This sounds like the hybrid battery might be losing capacity. However, the car has the exact same max horsepower in PWR, Normal, & ECO modes. Just different throttle mapping. In PWR, it's more touchy at low throttle openings. In ECO, it's more touchy at near full throttle. Normal is linear.

So even if i floor a Prius [in this case 2012 Prius C] accelerator all the way down, there is no risk of damaging the HSD because the Prius does not posses enough power to do such thing?

Yes, even though there are failures in the transaxle, none I have heard of were due to mechanical failure of any gearing. Gen 1 has some bearing failures, and Gen 2 had some motor failures, none were failed gears.

(We are very open here, so if there was any pattern of failures, we would be whining about it. As an example, read up on Gen 3 head gasket failures)

Just my take: you make a request by tromping the gas, the car’s computers carry out that request, but also follow criteria that protect the drivetrain from excessive stress.

That's good to know, i ask because when i went to buy my used 2012 Prius C, when i asked the dealer guy that if we could go for a drive test to see if the car behaved normally, he was accelerating and braking quite aggressively, i bought the car because it has never been in an accident, was in liquidation so the price was significantly lower, in this case $6,500, and is in good condition, barely any dents and scratches, the hood was replaced for some reason but i looked well in the front from the engine compartment and from below and nothing is dented nor repainted. But that thought about how he drove it never left my mind, concerned if there could be any mechanical damage due to the way he drove, but apparently that is not the case.

That's a relief, it's good that Toyota with Kaizen keeps improving their machines more and more, and since i got the Prius C i don't expect almost anything to go bad, the Prius C as proven to be even more reliable than the Prius and Prius V.
