After I replaced the original HV battery about 2 yrs ago, I have since put 4 rebuilt batteries in. The shop that is doing the replacement is a reputable company. They rebuild wrecked Prius and the HV batteries. They said the car is doing what it is supposed to do as far as the charging system. I was just curious if anyone else has had similar issues? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a great warranty, and they cover the reinstallation labor (y)

Who is this reputable rebuilder?

Your 05 is not eating batteries, the rebuilt batteries are eating themselves. AFAIK, the record here is 6 rebuilt batts from Dorman that one poor guy suffered through.

I also replaced my battery two years ago but have had zero issues. My secret? It was new.

Auto be yours in Scottsburg Indiana. The warranty was ok. It's prorated after 6 months and the warranty doesn't start over unless money is exchanged, meaning after the 1st 6 months. So that's were I'm at now is I had one put in in January of last year and I paid 130 bucks and another in May. They go off of the January battery since that's when I paid. Kinda screwy if you ask me. My battery is now out of warranty. Needless to say I will not be going back there.

12 volt had been replaced before all of this happened.

    Can you install it yourself?

If so, newpriusbatteries.com has new ones which have been very good feedback.
read the monster thread on them

or search the forum here for where you can get a brand new oem toyota
for pretty cheap under the msrp around 1650-2000

but you have to install yourself.

I've actually contacted green bean battery and I think I will probably go with them. Know of anyone who has used them?
